Work At Home

Work At Home

Today, I created a good YouTube Video titled work at home. I wanted to create an interest from my Google reader that happened to be searching for work at home. I did this for a very specific reason. In the first place, the keyword term is searched over 2 million times each month. This tells me that people are indeed, trying to find information concerning starting a home business, or trying to find a work from home business that is highly publicized to join. Its a fact that people are interested in joining or starting a good rock solid work at home business opportunity. As with anything found on Google, there is somewhat of a catch 22 when it comes to finding good information. Often times, those that spend the most money will be found at the top. So, it may just be that some so-called Internet marketing legend has bought their way to that position. That does NOT mean that the work at home business model is right for everyone. Looking for a good business is a tough road, to say the least. The searcher may come across totally ridiculous terms like get rich quick, make money online, get rich in a home based business and other misleading statements. Let us clarify this right here and now.

There are no quick and easy solutions to a work at home business!

It is about time that all work at home netpreneurs stand and rally around that statement, simply because it is the truth. It is a funny thing about truth. Some people just will not accept the truth as being real. They had rather have visualizations of riches beyond belief, fast cars, beautiful women and everything associated with the so called good life. Work at home advertisers will spare no expense in trying to convince and coerce others into joining their business. You know that there is the statement, "Fake It Until You Make It." Now this sums it all up for me. It simply means those that lie the best, walk away with the prize on the Internet. Well dear reader, I am here to blow your mind and inform you that if you buy into this type of lie, then you probably deserve to get exactly what you ask for!

IF you are reading this article, and expecting to hear exaggerations, lies, hype and misrepresentations of the truth, then you will be sadly disappointed. If, on the ohter hand you are looking for a real business, a work at home business model that has worked well for over three years, a work at home business plan that will assist you in reaching your goals and dreams, then you have definitely come to the right place! There is simply no better time to become involved in a work at home business. The economy is hurting, to say the least. Real people are looking for benefits and solutions to their financial dilemmas. Clicking the link listed below, can be the most imortant move that you have made so far. You will become associated with true work at home business professionals. They are not wealthy, nor rich, but they are one thing.

Financially Free!

So, if you are willing to take that all important first step, then you will accomplish the following task for today. CLICK THIS LINK FOR MORE INFO! (read more)

Work At Home

Work At Home

If you follow the above link, you will be taken to another site, where work at home articles reign supreme. You see, I am driven to creatively write about my passion, which is simply, working at home. I find no better way to spend my time than writing, and talking with others about the work at home industry. One thing becomes much clearer to me. People want to work at home, they want time freedom, they want to live their lives on their own terms, but honestly, very few of us ever reach that goal. I have to wonder why is this so?

After deciding some seven years ago that I was going to learn how to start a work from home business, I really knew nothing about how to promote effectively on Google. I knew what the Internet was, but really knew nothing about promoting goods and services online. I scoped the gambit and began buying everything that I could find out about how to promote my work at home business effectively on Google. I spent way too much money, and honestly, got nothing for that hard earned cash spent. I am sure that you can equate very well to this story.

I learned really quickly that almost everything you read out on the Internet is simply a lie. If it is not a lie, then its the truth stretched just a little. I learned that spam emails that I received in my inbox telling me about leads, traffic generating systems, making money from a work at home business were basically all lies. Very little truth can be found online folks. Now, this is good news for you. You can learn from me the RIGHT way to begin a successful work at home business. You can learn specific techniques, strategies and systems that offer you great advantages in working from home, that others simply do not know about. You will learn how to save your money, not spend it. You will learn that most of everything that you will need to build a great home business is sitting right in front of you at this time. Your computer, and a notepad document, will be the place to begin your journey. You will learn that after a period of time, you can build your own powerful profile on Google that people can view, and learn who you are and what you do. You will learn that spending money foolishly on Google pay per click advertising, leads and other forms of well known business elements online, is totally unnecessary. Is that not great news for you today?

Butch Hamilton is back!

First and foremost, the trend is people are returning to Veretekk. It seems that after a long departure many are discovering that there is nothing out there like good ole Veretekk.

Case in point, Butch Hamilton has returned after being gone for over 6 months. In his own words:

Hello, my name is Butch Hamilton. For many of you who know me, and for those that do not, I am going to share a story with you about my relationship with Tom Prendergast and Veretekk. I began some seven years ago. I came to Veretekk with a burning desire to find another way to make a living, other than welding and construction. I actually began this journey on ebay. I started and operated a highly successful ebay store where I specialized in my stock and trade of welding equipment. It was a fun business, and I made enough money to lay the construction business aside, and do it full time. I enjoyed the exposure in being able to place my stuff on ebay, and turn a handsome profit. I eventually became a power seller there, and opened an ebay store where I sold welders and equipment around the world.

I decided one day that I wanted to get a website, so I hard a webmaster in Florida to do this for me. She did a very good job, and I THOUGHT that I was ready to make money with my own marketing site. Weeks went by, with no sales. I called her, and tried to get her to tell me what was wrong. Unfortunately, she knew not one thing about promoting online. I found this amazing, but actually, I see this all the time now. Web designers can build great sites, but there are very few, if any that know anything about website promoting. So, I began the journey of turning to Google to learn how to promote my website. As you all know who are reading this, that most of the stuff that we find on Google is nothing but crap. I bought everything that I could, downloaded ebooks, the whole nine yards, but basically, that information was nothing but ways for me to spend more money. Honestly I was very frustrated with the whole scheme of Internet marketing. I joined a lot of Internet businesses, and tried to find just one that would allow me to make money. Well, here we go again. Most of those were nothing but marketing scams, designed to further suck money out of my pocket. I had several organizations where I built large downlines, but no real money came from them.

I was surfing on Google one day, and came across Blastomatic. I signed up for it, not knowing one thing about what I was getting myself in for. A couple of days went by, and my sponsor called me. I thought, oh boy, here we go. Another guy trying to milk money out of my pocket. But that never happened. He simply told me about Veretekk, and that I should take a close look. I could use this system to build whatever business I wanted to. So, I signed up, and went gold right away, to begin the process. I was totally lost at first. I decided to go to each and every training class that I could find. The deeper in I got, the more interesting the process became. The Veretekk trainers were most helpful in giving me information, and I decided to go full time with this new approach called search engine optimization.

I took a course that Tom offered called Gorilla Marketing. In those sessions, he went into great details about html, writing content, how to build websites, how to learn the intricate details of marketing online. One day, I receive a call from none other that the Big Kahuna himself, Tom Prendergast. He said that he had noticed that I attended all the training classes, and seemed to be very interested in this whole thing. He asked me one question. Are you willing to do what I ask? I said sure. So here were the rules for me to follow. He wanted me to create 1000 first family classified ads. After that, he wanted a minimum of 500 free pages. He did NOT tell me how to do it, he simply said DO IT!

Folks, I have to tell you that this was the beginning of my greatest struggle. The only thing that I knew how to do was write. I had to learn html code. I had to learn how to submit to the search engines. I had to write effective keyword specific copy. I had to learn every single element of Internet marketing from the ground up. I did NOT ask questions, I simply attempted to do the work. I did NOT get ready to do this, I simply did it.

When I completed the tasks that were set before me, I contacted Tom. He was amazed at what he saw. He told me that he had never had anyone do this work as he had instructed. From that point, I know that I was headed in the right direction. Over the years, Tom and I grew very close, and are best of friends today. We do not always agree, but there is one sure thing. We are both supreme when it comes to marketing websites on the search engines. No doubt, there are so called gurus out there, but they simply cannot hold a candle to what we can accomplish.

About seven months ago, I was growing very weary of the whole ball game of search engine optimization. I had built up a very good business, but honestly, unless you have ever promoted websites for someone, you have no idea what you are getting into. I find that almost no one knows anything about what you do. They expect you to build their business for them. This is simply not what SEO is. SEO is all about creating professional profiles in keyword specific areas for websites. From there, its up to the business owners to contact the leads, and make the sales. I began to grow weary and bone tired from all this bs. I had spent years of 16-18 hours per day, seven days a week running my business. One day, I decided that I no longer wanted to be on the Internet, and I flat quit! I walked away, sold my computers, and vowed that I would never get in deep like I had before. Tom and I had some words, and boom, I was gone.

Seven months of spending great times with my wife Debbie, and my precious little grandchild Emma, taught me a lot. I did a tremendous amount of thinking, visualizing and creating a new perspective on my job on the Internet. I had built a very good Trivita business, and simply lived off that income. Now, you might say that I am getting rich with Trivita, but honestly, I am doing very well. Anyone who has an Internet business, and can live quite nicely from the income, is in the top 10% of people making money online. Do NOT kid yourself here, folks. Do NOT believe that all these gurus are, what they say they are. There are very few million-dollar earners on the net, because if there were, Tom and I would surely fall in the category.

Seven months passed, and I began to evaluate my position. I decided to purchase a new computer system, and come back with the full intent and purpose of building my TriVita business even better. I considered conducting SEO campaigns, but honestly, I really have no time for that. I will simply use my talent and expertise to build my TriVita business. I saw Tom one of my FaceBook accounts, and I decided to add him as a friend. I thought that either he would, or would not, and either way was fine. Soon, he did add me as a friend, and contacted me. We spoke on the phone that day, and it was like a homecoming reunion. We both apologized for the words we had, and realized that we are as much like brothers as two people can be.

True story:

Tom told me that one of my old Veretekk was earning about $400 per month, and had been growing, since my leaving. I was amazed at this statement. The next statement was even more amazing. He shared that he was willing to begin paying me commissions on that system! Imagine that folks. The CEO of Veretekk was going to continue to pay my commissions on a system that I had done nothing with in over 7 months. To say the least, I was blown away. This simply goes to show you what kind of man Tom really is.

The new HOSTING system Veretekk is getting ready to launch, of which I am beta testing now, with the Cpanel hosting is really amazing. I had cut my teeth on the Plesk control panel, and I figured to have issues, but honestly, it is very simple and easy to use. When you consider the low price of $54.95 per month, for all the value that you are getting, it is crazy not to choose Veretekk, and the Veretekk tools for your online promoting presence on Google. Nothing can match the SEO power, but as I have always said, YOU must learn how to use it effectively. You cannot expect instant results in building an online business. You must be dedicated to building that business, and never quit until you achieve your results. I will also say that attending the training classes is great, but YOU are going to be the one that makes it or breaks it. NO one can answer all your questions. You have to be willing to jump in with both feed and become dedicated.

I wish you all wellness and prosperity, and I look forward to seeing your business name at the top of Google!

Veretekk "The SEO Social Network"

Veretekk has always struggled to some degree an identity issue. What exactly is Veretekk. Over the years this question not only plagued me, but many of you as well. Yes Veretekk gets you leads, excellent leads at that. We call them premium leads.

Veretekk offers one of the highest quality email and autoresponders systems long before the other guys ever did.

Veretekk delivers the finest live online marketing training.

Veretekk established the Traffic Portal concept and delivers to this day.

But, Veretekk has always been a social networked system.. Trainers from the ranks with open conference rooms and a solid family atmosphere of like-minded entrepreneurial individuals who find Veretekk a home on the Internet.

Veretekk is about 15 years old now, and still chugging along. It seems that the Internet is finally catching up with Veretekk and that is why Veretekk has discovered her true value.

Veretekk has always been about building leads, a sphere of influence and later built tools and assets to get to the top of Google and other search engines.

During this evolution, Veretekk has developed into the premier SEO Social Networking system. Especially with the advent of the Platinum Control Panel, the power of groups of entrepreneurs working together to gain top search engine rankings has become rather obvious and unparalleled anywhere else on the Internet.

This direction is responsible for the advent of V2 a brand new platform with the arsenal of Veretekk tools and services.

Imagine the email publication system called The Bully Pulpit. Right now it sends your messages, your content, your Newsletters out to all of the email contacts in your database.

We are working it right now to build into it, additional publication capability. Imagine being able to send the same Bully Pulpit message to yours and others Veretekk RSS feed system, WordPress blogs, Blogger.com blogs, Facebook and Tweeter accounts and another 800 plus Social Network systems.

The Platinum Control Panel already has some of these features already working. Combined with this huge publication tool will be a total interface on your new V2 front end interface.

V2 will no longer be referred to as a website or page but a full interactive interface constantly changing and updating in real time.

Before we launch this juggernaut we had some big challenges to address and we are now addressing them. We fired the old engineers who were hamstringing us and brought on a loyal and long time Veretekk veteran who is also a very competent and professional server, SQL and email engineer among many other talents and abilities. I am telling you right now, Veretekk now has the dream team working for you. The future is looking bright.

Meet our new server engineer: Mariusz Antonik

Mariusz originally from Poland lives in America and has been with Veretekk for some time. You know him because he is also a Veretekk trainer as well as a member of the esteemed Platinum Warriors group.

What you did not know is Mariusz's abilities with our servers eclipses the previous engineers we had employed for many years. Those of you that have been with us for some time know the frustrations the other engineers represented to Mike Darling and myself. Needless to say I am relieved to finally move on from that serious log jam they represented.

With Mariusz you are going to see massive and quick improvements with Veretekk again, just like the good old days.

Oh yeah, like the Sequential Email system. For years many of you suggested, even begged that we ad a feature to the letter system that would allow you to add a letter or delete a letter in an existing set of Sequentyial letters. You can thank Marius for doing just that, then putting it into testing production with our Warrior group before making it available to all of us.

Job well done Mariusz. Like I said, the sun is coming out to shine all over Veretekk again.

We can also thank Mariusz for the integration of our hosting system into Veretekk. A job that is almost ready to launch.

Commercial quality Hosting

Speaking of Hosting make sure you attend the Sunday conference as I will be handing out additional beta access to the hosting system as we move forward to final launch to several Gold members that attend. If your Silver now is a good time to go Gold. If you tell me you are a new Gold I will give you early beta access to the Cpanel hosting..

Prior to launch we are building a series of training videos, getting trainers ready to deliver Cpanel training conferences and creating all the promotional material you will need to promote this extremely valuable addition to your Veretekk Gold system.

FYI: This Sunday you will hear testimony from several members that will attest to the true value that our new Cpanel commercial level hosting is worth. Would you be surprised to hear that a similar hosting system would cost you more than what you pay for Veretekk right now?

New Direction for Veretekk

As you know we have always been focused on Veretekk being designed to promote your business as diverse as we are this is and still remains our core focus.

However, as I have had time to think and assess and immerse myself into the evolving culture of the Internet, I have had an epiphany.

Veretekk should also deliver the necessary support like an up line in your business would for your particular market and or business opportunity.

As I have researched and made plans for our new Forum (IE: Like the warriorforum) which includes almost all popular markets and MLM opportunities as sections in that forum, it began to make sense that a missing ingredient in Veretekk is just that. As we build this new forum it will have many categories and will grow with new categories to represent your business directions. Like SEO and affiliate marketing categories. Like MLM categories for Shaklee, Melalueca, Trivita, Pre Paid Legal, Bios Life Slim, etc. I am sure the forum will grow exponentially.

The forum will be open to the public and search engines but it's primary directive will be to teach and support the entire industry.

We will hook the forum current posts into your V2 web interface as well.

But after realizing the direction of the new forum it also became clear that we have not been utilizing the full potential of our conference rooms.

As we near the full release of Veretekk V2 (IE: The SEO Book Network) we will be delivering live conferences that will be focused on teaching specific members how to market specific opportunities. IE: We will have open web conferences teaching those members interested how to build a Shaklee business, How to get customers for their Shaklee opportunity, how to get top SEO results in the right keywords for Pre Paid Legal, how to build an SEO social network team to develop a huge Search Engine presence for their Bios Life Slim team, etc.

We will begin looking for leaders in all viable opportunities and markets to offer these trainings for members in the businesses they represent.

We will have Cindy McAsey and Butch Hamilton as guests this Sunday offer their perspective as to why this is a major development and how this can explode your business in both Veretekk and your perspective opportunity.

Do not miss this meeting!

The Flood Of Testimonials Continues...
Real People With Real Results!
Dear Tom and Mike

I would like to thank you for the opportunity of meeting great people that are willing to help a person to learn on how to market on the internet. I have had the opportunity to learn HTML from Van Dessasau and boy that has been GREAT. I have also meet Jim Gras, Tom Stack, Steve Turner, Ty, Manuel Washington, and Paul Stanton. I have also meet Cindy McAsey and boy her class is exciting. I can hardly wait for Sunday morning to come around for two great classes. They are HTML with Van and The Loss Leader with Steve Turner. I have put what I have learned in these two classes to work. The class that Jim Gras taught on title tags was supper.

I hope one day to become a Veretekk Trainer and work with Van on HTML because I really like to see the results on the pages I do. I cannot wait for the New Veretekk System to be done. So again I say a big thank you.

You don't meet too many young people with the intellect of Anthony MacDonald who is able to see real value in change for the better so quickly. Anthony right off realized the financial benefit of having a platform to market his products and services and went for the juggler vein on accomplishing his goals. He is definitely going to be a strong trainer in the Veretekk system.

I for one, as well many others I know are delighted to have come across such a goal driven, high energy, and low maintenance personality. He is one that takes the ball and runs with it full steam ahead. What a great winner! The first time I talked to Anthony I saw right off that he had the GANAS power. That is the ability to be able to look someone straight in the eyes and gain a person's attention without any tools, chalk board, painted room, or any device made by man kind. Just pure ole savy gives him the ability to hold one person or 250 people's attention on what is being said. That is a trait that only a few have and Anthony has definitely got GANAS.

He now is a Veretekk member headed toward becoming one of the all time great marketers of today. I am looking forward to his progress and he has already started that journey in the right direction. .I can see him as a high intelligent person passing that knowledge to others as an Internet marketing consultant of the first degree and applying it to his business, program, or services. But I guess the best I like about Anthony is his downright common sense approach to whatever the conversation is about.

He is not easy to jump toward hype, but realizes what is best for him and others situation at the moment. Too few companies lack Anthony's traits and would be enhanced by using people like him more often. Their company would definitely grow by leaps and bounds. Once again I can see Anthony as one of the top trainers in the Veretekk marketing system and a successful online business career.

Work At Home

Work At Home

I guess that you might say that I am drawn to work at home. There are some reasons for this, and I will explain them in a few articles. You are welcome to trace the links back and back, as thin article will eventually come out on the other side and be the perfect Google promoting tool. After having been employed and self-employed, I know for a fact that having a real job is just not for me. I have had the bosses that were jerks, and some good ones as well, but the simple truth of the matter, I hate working for anyone but me and my family. If I did not have and develop a work at home business, I would basically be unemployable, and thank you very much for that indeed! I remember the days of frustration and anxiety and trying to please the man, and I am glad that those days are over for good. Working at home for me is a very natural and pleasurable experience. I can pursue my chosen field of writing content at my hearts desire. If I wish to quit, I simply walk away. So, in essence, you can say that work at home to me is freedom in its essence.

Becoming a work at home professional is time consuming at first. The reason for the failure rate in the home business industry is the fact that almost no one knows what to do, once they have joined that wonderful widget business. This is a sad but true fact folks. You want to know why this is? Well, owners of these super networking legendary make millions of dollars from home simply know nothing about teaching their affiliate how to do it. They may have some so called legend working, but in reality, that person is someone who happens to either know a lot of people, or simply email spams their way to millions of people. In other words, its more or less a numbers game. If you were to ask them how they do it, they would tell you to gather all your friends and family and tell them about your work at home business. If you are like me, that is distasteful, to say the least.

So, what is the secret sauce, if any, that makes a work from home business work? Its really no secret at all. You do your diligence, find a company with a good product, believe in that product and begin the process of telling others about that. There are numerous ways to promote a work at home business, so you must choose the ways that will work for you. You may be comfortable holding meetings or parties. That is ok, but do it all the time and never quit. You may choose a work from home business that requires you to travel to other locations. That is fine as well. You may have a large sphere of influence in another WAH program, and feel comfortable with sharing your information with them, but be aware, most work at home business companies do not like for you to promote anything but their gig. You can literally be shut down very quickly if you are found cross promoting. People generally believe that even though they have a great business, it should just build on its own. Folks, there is NO business that will accomplish that. You are going to have to become very savvy in the art and science of working at home if you stand a chance at becoming successful in this industry. Quite frankly, most will give up after a month or two. They could be right on the verge of a breakthrough, yet decide to throw in the proverbial work at home towel, and jump over to the greener pastures of yet another program that will earn them millions. I talk with people every day that jump from one work from home gig to another, searching for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Well Dorothy, just follow the yellow brick road to perdition, because that is exactly what you will find there.

Many people believe that working from home is a lot like the old envelope stuffing gigs of yesteryear. You remember seeing those ads of making money from your own envelope stuffing business, right? Well, the whole deal was a work at home scam, of which there are many. You must know that almost everything you see and read on the Internet is utter BS. I mean that sincerely. There are no super duper work at home businesses that will make you rich. There are no secret sauce programs that will get your sites listed on Google. There are no software download programs that will cut the effort. Please remember this. Working from home is just like being employed. You must show up every day, and make just a little progress. At the end of that day, you go to bed, and get up and do it all over again. How long does it take for work from home success? As long as it takes! I am not being cynical here folks, only truthful. I have built several large work from home organizations, and the only way that I am able to do this is by working the work at home gig. There is simply no way around this fact, and if you think otherwise, then are a green newbie that is going to lose their socks in that latest and greatest juice business, I personally guarantee it!

The more positive side of working from home is the freedom to choose the way that you wish to live. I answer to no one, have all that I need, do what I want and when I want, and basically I can find no better way to live than that. I hear and read about work from home scams, and I know for a fact that a lot of people that bitch, moan and whine about not making any money from their work at home business, are nothing more than that. Bitching does not get results, working gets results. If they spent as much time writing about their businesses as they write about how they got ripped off, they might have made a few dollars, who knows? Self disciple plays heavily into the art and science of developing a great work from home business project. Most have not the discipline to get and hold a real job, much less approach working from home in a professional manner. Its sad, but its the truth folks. More time is wasted in making non-sensical chit chat on Facebook and Skype, that actual work is done. I look at that, and simply have to laugh as these are the people who are not making money, and wondering why?

Work at Home is a reality for myself, and millions of people around the world. In these days and times of economic unrest, it would seem that people should be looking to find that perfect home business, as the real jobs are fastly coming to a close. Internet jobs last, and will continue to last even in times of economic depression. This should be a very good and positive sign for all the work at homers pursuing the work at home business industry. Frankly, I put my trust in my work at home business way before I trust the politicians and lawyers that run this country. My work from home business is mine, and as long as I follow their guidelines, and work my tail off, I am good to go. Quite possibly you can learn to do that as well.

I am certain without a doubt that work at home businesses work, it depends on your ability as a dedicated work from home entrepreneur to choose to work until you achieve the success that you desire. Without this type of dedication, you are simply doomed to fail. Work at home business failure could be thought of in this manner. Do the work at home business fail you, OR, did you fail the business? If you can honestly answer this question, you may have a chance at eventual success.

Anti-Inflammation

Anti-Inflammation

Inflammation (Latin, inflammare, to set on fire) is part of the complex biological response of vascular tissues to harmful stimuli, such as pathogens, damaged cells, or irritants. Inflammation is a protective attempt by the organism to remove the injurious stimuli and to initiate the healing process. Inflammation is not a synonym for infection. Even in cases where inflammation is caused by infection, the two are not synonymous: infection is caused by an exogenous pathogen, while inflammation is one of the responses of the organism to the pathogen.

Without inflammation, wounds and infections would never heal. Similarly, progressive destruction of the tissue would compromise the survival of the organism. However, chronic inflammation can also lead to a host of diseases, such as hay fever, atherosclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. It is for that reason that inflammation is normally closely regulated by the body.

Inflammation can be classified as either acute or chronic. Acute inflammation is the initial response of the body to harmful stimuli and is achieved by the increased movement of plasma and leukocytes (especially granulocytes ) from the blood into the injured tissues. A cascade of biochemical events propagates and matures the inflammatory response, involving the local vascular system, the immune system, and various cells within the injured tissue. Prolonged inflammation, known as chronic inflammation, leads to a progressive shift in the type of cells present at the site of inflammation and is characterized by simultaneous destruction and healing of the tissue from the inflammatory process.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disorder that may affect many tissues and organs, but principally attacks synovial joints. The process produces an inflammatory response of the synovium (synovitis) secondary to hyperplasia of synovial cells, excess synovial fluid, and the development of pannus in the synovium. The pathology of the disease process often leads to the destruction of articular cartilage and ankylosis of the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis can also produce diffuse inflammation in the lungs, pericardium, pleura, and sclera, and also nodular lesions, most common in subcutaneous tissue under the skin. Although the cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown, autoimmunity plays a pivotal role in both its chronicity and progression.

About 1% of the world's population is afflicted by rheumatoid arthritis, women three times more often than men. Onset is most frequent between the ages of 40 and 50, but people of any age can be affected. It can be a disabling and painful condition, which can lead to substantial loss of functioning and mobility. It is diagnosed chiefly on symptoms and signs, but also with blood tests (especially a test called rheumatoid factor) and X-rays. Diagnosis and long-term management are typically performed by a rheumatologist, an expert in the diseases of joints and connective tissues.

Various treatments are available. Non-pharmacological treatment includes physical therapy, orthoses, occupational therapy and nutritional therapy. Analgesia (painkillers) and anti-inflammatory drugs, including steroids, are used to suppress the symptoms, while disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are often required to inhibit or halt the underlying immune process and prevent long-term damage. In recent times, the newer group of biologics has increased treatment options.

The name is based on the term "rheumatic fever", an illness which includes joint pain and is derived from the Greek word rheumatos ("flowing"). The suffix oid ("resembling") gives the translation as joint inflammation that resembles rheumatic fever. The first recognized description of rheumatoid arthritis was made in 1800 by Dr Augustin Jacob Landré-Beauvais.

This is a disease most common in old men. While rheumatoid arthritis primarily affects joints, problems involving other organs of the body are known to occur. Extra-articular ("outside the joints") manifestations other than anemia (which is very common) are clinically evident in about 15-25% of individuals with rheumatoid arthritis. It can be difficult to determine whether disease manifestations are directly caused by the rheumatoid process itself, or from side effects of the medications commonly used to treat it - for example, lung fibrosis from methotrexate or osteoporosis from corticosteroids.

Admittedly, inflammation is a common ailment among people around the globe. Learn More (read more)

TriVita Is the Epicenter of Health and Wellness on Google!

Tonight, I wanted to write in a more personalized way concerning the company called the health and wellness company, TriVita. Three years ago, Tom Prendergast, the CEO and Founder of Veretekk, came to me with an idea. It was a brilliant marketing plan where we would promote buying customers, and not buying leads. Now, for anyone involved in network marketing, you all probably know the results of buying leads. It is a fruitless and non-productive way to build any online business, even though the supposed gurus tell us all that this is the way to go. Those leads have been bought and sold thousands of times, no matter what the leads company tells you. There is nothing to the old slogan fresh leads, that is, unless you have personally developed a program yourself, created lead capture pages, and spent time in promoting that site effectively on Google, where people are searching for the product or service they are looking for. Leads, when developed the right way, can be a definite help to an online business; however, there are very few that know how to generate those leads.

Enter TriVita

TriVita, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, is the company that produces fine products for health and wellness. You may be thinking "Oh No, not another health product!" In reality, TriVita products do make a difference in tens of people's lives on a daily basis. All of their exclusive products are produced on site at the Arizona home, and go through rigorous testing from qualified research Doctors and Scientists. They are continually developing new products, and are ever on the move with their infomercials found on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Their diligence in promoting TriVita, and helping their affiliate members is truly unmatched in the network marketing industry. In the backoffice of the TriVita websites, there are amazing contact tools that affiliates can use to promote their individual TriVita businesses. This is the reason that TriVita has enjoyed over 10 successful years in the health and wellness industry, and even in this dwindling economy, they, and we, continue to grow our businesses.

TriVita offers bundle packs of customers for purchase by their affiliate members, who have come to the company from various promotions that are run. These people have purchased products, or signed in to learn more information about the company. Buying these TriVita leads is a very good way for affiliate members to gain a foothold on building a rock solid business. Promoting TriVita is a simple and effective method. Now you may find TriVita affiliate members that will overstep their bounds in promoting, but you will have that kind of nonsense in any online business found on Google. You must take their information, and think, they simply do not know what they are doing in the promoting field. Personally, I would never make claims of health and wealth, but rather be real with people in telling my personal experiences with the company. If someone chooses to join my organization, they can rest assured that it was not of my trying to coerce and lie my way into making money from them. I have never told anyone that joined my team, that they could become rich with TriVita, rather I have been straight forward, and showed them ways to effectively promote their businesses. It is my goal, that these people become a success, as I have been able to do over the last three years. The more successful they are, I in turn, achieve my level of success as well.

Enter ItsGoodBusiness.net

ItsGoodBusiness.net is our choice of the way to market our business successfully on the Internet. How to Live More Productively

TriVita

To pursue wellness, you must find a balance between the physical, emotional, and spiritual areas of your life. And that's just what our 10 Essentials for Health & Wellness can help you do.

We developed these easy-to-follow wellness guidelines to help people everywhere live life to its fullest. Our products will dramatically boost your well-being and put you on the pathway to a purposeful life, but they're just the beginning. Our 10 Essentials will help you complete your wellness journey-and make your life whole.

1. Breathe Deeply – Air is the cornerstone of life. Every moment of every day your body exchanges carbon dioxide for oxygen to keep each cell in your body alive and functioning. A rich supply of oxygen can make the difference between feeling tired and stressed and youthful and focused. Take at least five deep breaths from your abdomen several times a day.

Breathe Deeply – The secret to getting enough oxygen is to breathe deeply. Just follow this simple process to maximize your breathing.

Take 8-10 deep breaths in sequence, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Check that your abdomen is rising and falling with each breath.

Complete your breathing routine at least five times a day – choosing times when you feel stressed or tired will give you an instant pick-me-up!

2. Drink Water – Water is essential for everything your body does. In fact, you are more than 70 percent water! Nutrient absorption, blood flow, respiration, elimination, and your ability to see and hear require adequate consumption of pure, clean water. Your body cannot effectively store the water you need throughout the day. Drink at least eight glasses of water every day.

Drink Water – The first key to getting the water you need is to find out how much your body requires. To calculate your personal water requirements:
Divide your weight in pounds by 2. The answer equals the minimum number of ounces of water per day your body needs just to function normally.

3. Sleep Peacefully – Sleep is the only time your body has to repair and rejuvenate every organ and system in your body. Sleep deprivation causes cellular damage, and limits the production of enzymes and hormones your body needs to keep your cells healthy, and prevent premature aging. Sleep also has a powerful impact on your emotional health – it eases stress and helps you cope with the ups and downs of your day. Strive to get eight hours of sleep every night.

Sleep Peacefully – Perform this simple bedroom survey to see if your room is helping or hindering your quest for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Do you need room darkening window coverings to avoid the glare of early morning light?
Does noise from other rooms or outdoors need to be minimized with better insulation or reorganization of your room?
Does your mattress and pillow promote a good night’s sleep or should they be replaced?
Do you feel calm and restful in your room, or do you need to make changes that will make it more soothing?
Do you use your room for more than rest and relaxation – do you need to relocate your computer, television, or other distractions?

4. Eat Nutritiously – Food has a powerful impact on your body. Everyday, food, in large part, determines how you feel and how your body functions. A balanced diet, rich in whole foods, combined with quality nutritional supplements created to meet your specific needs, will give you the energy you need today, and the disease-fighting strength you need to build a healthy future.

Eat Nutritiously – Sometimes eating well can seem complicated – but it doesn’t have to be. Grab a dinner plate and follow these steps to a balanced meal:
Look at your plate – you will only fill the center, undecorated portion.
Divide the plate in half – fill one half with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Divide the remaining half into two equal sections, and place lean meat or fish in one section, and a high-fiber carbohydrate in the other – now you have a balanced meal!

5. Enjoy Activity – Your body was created to move – and move often. Activity increases your circulation, speeding oxygen, nutrients and water to your cells. Your Lymphatic System requires activity to purge your body of deadly toxins. Activity also triggers your brain to release health-giving hormones and enzymes that lift your spirit while they bolster your immune system. A small investment in daily moderate activity will enable you to reap tremendous health benefits.
Enjoy Activity – Make a goal to walk more every day. Walking for just 10 minutes has been shown to have a positive impact on your health.
Park as far from the door as possible.
Take a walking break instead of a coffee break.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Put walking before television or other sedentary activities.

6. Give and Receive Love – As you give and receive love, freely and generously, you will be blessed with meaningful, lifelong relationships and cherished memories that will bring joy in happy times, and strength and peace in difficult times.
Give and Receive Love – Pick out a “Person of the Week” and express your love for them every day – be specific – let them know why you love them.

7. Be Forgiving – By forgiving yourself and others of past and present mistakes, real or perceived, you will gain freedom from negativity and guilt that will strengthen you and those you love.
Be Forgiving – Each day this week before going to bed, make a point to consciously forgive anyone who has offended you.

8. Practice Gratitude – Sincere gratitude will lift and inspire you. Recognizing and appreciating all you have empowers you to find and express true joy.
Practice Gratitude – The simple act of writing down the people, things and blessings you are grateful for will change your life. Create a gratitude journal and make an entry in it every day.

9. Develop Acceptance – When you develop the ability to identify and accept the circumstances in your life you cannot change, yet strive to make positive changes whenever and wherever you can, you will discover lasting peace and hope.
Develop Acceptance – Make a goal to focus on positive changes in yourself and others – avoid dwelling on, or pointing out shortcomings in yourself or others. Celebrate even small successes by those you care about.

10. Develop a Relationship with God – You build a relationship with God in the same way you build a relationship with those around you – through sharing and listening. By offering a simple prayer daily, you will enjoy a sense of well-being you will not experience any other way.
Develop a Relationship with God – Take at least 15 minutes each day to spend in prayer, meditation, and inspirational reading. Make this a time to concentrate on the areas in your life where you most need Divine help. Seek out Divine comfort and direction every day.

You are a complex, unique combination of physical, emotional and spiritual qualities. By discovering and applying the 10 Essentials, you can develop habits and attitudes that will increase your energy and help you get the most out of life. Congratulations on taking your first steps toward vibrant health & energy!

Anti-Inflammation

Natural Headache Relief

The term “headache” is used to describe aching or pain that occurs in the head, face, mouth, or neck. It is one of the most common symptoms experienced by people worldwide. In fact, up to 40 percent of people experience at least one severe headache per year. In most cases, these headaches are related to stress or tension (these are known as tension headaches).

Anti-Inflammation

The Anti-Inflammation Diet (or anti-inflammatory diet) is a diet aimed at decreasing levels of inflammation in the body primarily through the balance of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids (hormones that ultimately control the entire inflammatory process) and secondarily through the balance of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory gene transcription factors until the body reaches a continous state or ideal point at which it will have completely minimized body-wide inflammation (defined as silent-inflammation) that is ultimately responsible for cardiovascular disease (including the primary cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, which is inflammation of the heart), diabetes, and in many ways, cancer, and furthermore, at which point the body will actively keep silent-inflammation minimized, maximizing the rejuvenation potential of cells and maximizing wellbeing.

Inflammation and eicosanoids

Inflammation cannot be viewed as a negative thing, but instead should only be thought of as the ideal harmony of the body, in which pro and anti inflammatory eicosanoids (and also gene transcription factors) have been balanced to such an extent that the negative and dangerous attributes of inflammation (silent-inflammation) have been minimized, and the repair and rejuvenation factors of the body at a cellular level maximized, through a balanced diet, through the use of high-dose pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil, through the use of supplement-aided polyphenols, and through moderate and low-intensity exercise.

When balanced, the body will be at a state of maximum wellbeing, but when unbalanced, excess arachidonic acid (AA), the building block of many pro-inflammatory eicosanoids, will appear in the bloodstream, many of which will be sequestered by fat cells, so as to prevent the build-up of arachidonic acid in other cells. However, even though sequestered, arachidonic acid will still start a local production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. Eventually these will be over-produced, and they will also generate a cascade of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which can leave fat cells and cause body-wide inflammation. What's more, fat cells can start moving around the body and attach themselves to organs and cellular structures, a condition called lipotoxicity, inducing further pro-inflammatory cascades in the body. Fat cells can also be poisoned by excess arachidonic acid (which is toxic at high enough levels), which will make arachidonic acid leak out.

This cycle should be looked as a never-ending circle, a circle which cannot be stopped and yet which can be optimized. In the same way as it is not healthy to minimize the arachidonic acid (the building block of all pro-inflammatory eicosanoids) after a certain extent (marked by the ideal ratio of arachidonic acid to eicosapentaenoic acid), one should not also maximize it (or minimize eicosapentaenoic acid, or EPA, which through the inhibition of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme, plays a very large part in producing anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, while also inhibiting the pro-inflammatory transcription factor NF-kappaB and stimulating the anti-inflammatory transcription factor PPAR-gamma). Hence, the anti-inflammation diet is all about moderation and balance. Insulin

Insulin is a hormone that is secreted by the beta cells of the pancreas in order to lower blood sugar levels. The glycemic load of the meal determines the extent of insulin secretion. Insulin is essentially a storage hormone that drives macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, and fat) into cells for immediate use or long-term storage. High levels of insulin will however activate the delta-5-desaturase enzyme, which is responsible for the conversion of dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (the building block of many anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, which however can also be converted into arachidonic acid) into arachidonic acid. The higher the levels of insulin, and the longer they last, the more surplus arachidonic acid the delta-5-desaturase enzyme will produce. Controlling insulin levels is thus of primary importance in order to balance the order of pro and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids and reduce silent-inflammation. The delta-5-desaturase enzyme

The delta-5-desaturase enzyme is activated by insulin and inhibited by eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and glucagon. It plays a key role in inflammation because it will convert dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid into arachidonic acid if activated by insulin, but will be inhibited by EPA and glucagon (which in turn is activated through a moderate intake of protein). Thus, insulin control (not too low and not too high) through a proper diet (that also activates glucagon through the intake of low-fat protein) along with high doses of ultra-refined EPA/DHA concentrate (long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids, or that is, pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil) are very important in promoting wellbeing. Arachidonic acid (AA), dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA), and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) - the three fatty acids involved in the production of eicosanoids

Only three fatty acids can produce eicosanoids: arachidonic acid (AA), dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA), and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Arachidonic acid (AA) produces pro-inflammatory eicosanoids, dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA) produces anti-inflammatory eicosanoids that accelerate cellular rejuvenation (DGLA is also the precursor of arachidonic acid), and finally eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) produces neutral eicosanoids, although the presence of EPA can inhibit the production of arachidonic acid as well as diluting arachidonic acid concentrations in cell membranes. Through the control of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme, EPA plays a key role in determining to which extent dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid ends up being building blocks of pro and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids. Thus, its importance cannot be understated, and ultimately, the balance of the building blocks of pro and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, arachidonic acid and dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid, can only be dictated by the levels of EPA in a person which are supplemented by a proper diet.

To reduce arachidonic acid, a person needs to increase the levels of EPA in every cell of their body. This is marked by the ratio of AA / EPA, and the lower this ratio (until ideal), the better the person will be, given the diluting effects that eicosapentaenoic acid has on the likelihood that arachidonic acid will produce pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. The AA / EPA ratio is known as the silent-inflammation profile.

However, AA / EPA ratio does not tell the whole story. AA / DGLA ratio is also important, given that it measures the balance of the building blocks of pro and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids. AA / EPA measures the extent of silent-inflammation in the body while AA / DGLA measures the rejuvenation potential of cells. A person will want both ratios to be ideal. The role of Omega-6 fatty acids and refined carbohydrates in silent-inflammation

Omega-6 fatty acids (that come from vegetable oils such as corn, soy, sunflower and safflower) increase the likelihood of producing more arachidonic acid. Furthermore, the intake of long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids that come from fish oils have dramatically decreased. In particular, high levels of EPA are needed to inhibit the activity of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme. These changes in the balance of fatty acids have dramatically increased the production of arachidonic acid, thus increasing silent-inflammation.

Refined carbohydrates (including pasta, pizza, and bread), which are virtually pure glucose, increase the production of insulin, which in turn activates the delta-5-desaturase enzyme that produces even more arachidonic acid, which in turn causes even more silent-inflammation and insulin resistance. Insulin resistance

Insulin resistance occurs when the binding of insulin to insulin receptors that are located in almost all of the cells of the body doesn't result in the correct signal being transmitted to a particular cell. As a result, blood glucose is not taken out of the bloodstream effectively. The pancreas compensates by producing more insulin (hyperinsulinemia) to drive blood glucose by force into its target cell. Generally, the more excess body fat a person has (while noting that some fat may be beneficial), the more insulin resistance the person has, meaning that more insulin will be produced in order to overcome this resistance. This increased insulin level in the bloodstream, when combined with an excess of Omega-6 fatty acids, will lead to excess production of arachidonic acid.

The role of low glycemic-load carbohydrates, protein, and monounsaturated fats, in silent-inflammation

Lowering the glycemic load of each meal reduces insulin secretion, which helps maintain stable blood glucose levels and reduce the activation of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme that converts dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid into arachidonic acid, the building block of all pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. Using non-starchy vegetables and some fruits low in glycemic-load as carbohydrates, one will be adding polyphenols that help inhibit the transcription factor NF-kappaB and also free radicals.

Protein stimulates the hormone glucagon from the pancreas. Glucagon in turn stimulates the liver to release stored carbohydrate to help maintain blood sugar levels. As a result, blood sugar levels are further stabilized. Furthermore, glucagon (along with EPA) inhibits the activity of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme that produces arachidonic acid by converting dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid into it. Protein works in a complementary way with low glycemic-load carbohydrates in order to control insulin level - thus, key to the control of insulin (not too low and not too high) and the delta-5-desaturase enzyme is a balanced ratio of the intake of low-fat protein and low glycemic-load carbohydrates.

The replacement of Omega-6 fats (which should be minimized given that any excess will increase the likelihood of producing more arachidonic acid than necessary) and saturated and trans fats (both of which are pro-inflammatory) with monounsaturated fats (one teaspoon per plate of extra-virgin olive oil rich in hydroxytyrosols) chokes off the levels of incoming dietary blocks required for the formation of arachidonic acid.

The secondary role of gene transcription factors NF-kappaB and PPAR-gamma in inflammation

Background

Transcription factors are proteins in the cell that can turn on certain genes and turn off other genes, especially those involved in inflammation.

The two most important transcription factors from a dietary perspective are NF-kappaB (which turns the inflammatory response on) and PPAR-gamma (which can turn the inflammatory response off). The NF-kappaB transcription factor

The innate immune system of the body plays a very important role in activating the NF-kappaB transcription factor. The innate immune system acts as an early warning system to detect microbial invasion by pattern recognition of certain fragments of microbes.

If one of these parts is present and binds to the surface of certain receptors called Toll-like receptors, it sets in motion a complex series of events that leads to an escalation of silent-inflammation to begin the attack phase of a person's inflammatory response.

One of the most studied Toll-like receptors is TLR-4, which binds a certain fragment of bacteria known as lipopolysaccharide or LPS. Once this fragment of bacteria finds its Toll-like receptor, events are set in motion that activate NF-kappaB.

This activated transcription factor then goes into the nucleus of the cells to signal for the increased synthesis of inflammatory proteins. As more of these inflammatory proteins are made, they begin to amplify the inflammatory response needed to attack potential bacterial invaders.

From a dietary perspective, one of the major problems is that one of the components of LPS required for its initial binding to this Toll-like receptor is the saturated fatty acid attached to it. Just adding saturated fats to the external environment of the cell can activate NF-kappaB - thus, diets rich in saturated fats can be inflammatory. On the other hand, long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) can inhibit this binding and prevent a dietary activation of the inflammatory response of the innate immune system by saturated fats that would result in increased silent-inflammation. EPA and DHA also inhibit the activation of NF-kappaB itself. Thus, besides affecting the balance of pro and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, adequate intake of EPA and DHA through pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil can also significantly inhibit other molecular components of the inflammatory response, such as Toll-like receptors and NF-KappaB.

Polyphenols are typically found in vegetables and fruits, have anti-inflammatory benefits at high enough concentrations. Polyphenols can significantly reduce the activation of NF-kappaB and hence reduce silent-inflammation. They also play a very large role in reducing excess free radicals, which cause silent-inflammation when in excess.

Reservatrol is a polyphenol that comes from red grapes (red wine). When given to obese rats (at an equivalent dose of three hundred glasses of red wine per day), experiments at Harvard have shown that these rats lived longer in spite of their obesity. This is most likely because the inhibition of NF-kappaB reduces silent-inflammation and thus leads to a longer health span.

Dr. Sears combined polyphenols from a large variety of vegetables and fruits and tested them against fat cells that had been stimulated by tumor necrosis factors (cytokines that can cause cell death), TNF, to activate NF-kappaB. The results indicate that as one increases the concentration of these combined polyphenols, the amount of NF-kappaB that is activated in response to TNF can be dramatically reduced.

The NF-kappaB is also inhibited by salicylates, that are other natural compounds found in vegetables and fruits. The PPAR-gamma transcription factor

The PPAR-gamma transcription factor is able to turn on anti-inflammation, just as NF-kappaB can turn on inflammation.

Once activated, it goes into the DNA to cause the synthesis of anti-inflammatory proteins, such as interleukin-10. Activation of PPAR-gamma in the fat cells also induces the synthesis of the hormone adiponectin that reduces insulin resistance.

However, it also encourages the production of new fat cells. But these new fat cells are healthy and serve a purpose in that they can encapsulate arachidonic acid. On the contrary, when fat cells are not healthy anymore (poisoned by excess arachidonic acid that they have encapsulated), they start leaking arachidonic acid.

Long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids and polyphenols have been shown to activate PPAR-gamma[1][2]. The four stages of the Anti-Inflammation Diet

The ideal meal, five times a day

One plate, of which two thirds are covered until over-flowing of non-starchy vegetables and optionally some fruits low in the glycemic index, one third of low-fat protein meat such as chicken breast, fish, extra-lean cut of beef (while giving preference to meats with minimal amounts of saturated fats) or tofu and soy alternatives for vegetarians, which is no bigger and no thicker than the palm of a hand (typically 3 ounces for females and 4 ounces for males), and finally, a dash (one teaspoon) of extra-virgin olive oil that is especially rich in hydroxytyrosol (and thus, which should ideally come from Italy or Greece). Basically, an improved version of a healthy mediterranean diet.

This is the ideal plate and meal of the anti-inflammation diet. Eat 3 plates daily along with two mini (desert-sized) plates as snacks. Thus, 5 meals that will be balanced enough and eaten closely enough (no more than 5 hours between meals) so that appropriate hormonal response and a benign balance of relevant gene transcription factors can be initialized by keeping insulin under control (which activates the delta-5-desaturase enzyme), stimulating the production of glucagon through the intake of low-fat protein (which stabilizes blood sugar levels and also reduces the activation of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme), and positively affecting the balance of the gene transcription factors through the intake of polyphenols from non-starchy vegetables and fruits low in glycemic-load. The uncooked extra-virgin olive oil serves as a healthy oil replacement due to hydroxytyrosols (an antioxidant phytochemical that has anti-inflammatory properties when taken in moderate amounts).

Even though the calculated amounts of protein and carbohydrates are not exact, what is important is to maintain a sense of overall balance to the meal. Hence, two thirds of the plate being full of non-starchy vegetables, and the remaining one third of the plate being composed of a low-fat meat that is no bigger and no thicker than the palm of your hand, is going to be good enough and ideal.

Pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil

The importance of pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil

High-dose pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil, composed of long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), has the power to reduce levels of arachidonic acid (AA), the building block of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids, while simulteneously increasing the levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), the enabler of the building blocks of anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, through its role in diluting arachidonic acid in the cell membranes and inhibiting the activity of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme, that when activated will convert dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid into arachidonic acid, playing thus a role into how much dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid is converted into anti-inflammatory eicosanoids and how much into arachidonic acid, which in turn produces pro-inflammatory eicosanoids.

It is also able to inhibit the activity of the NF-kappaB gene transcription factor, which is pro-inflammatory and which induces silent-inflammation, and is also able to activate the anti-inflammatory gene transcription factor PPAR-Gamma.

It has no side-effects, and can be considered as the most important supplement a person can get.

Dr. Sears is thought to have pioneered the Fish oil market (enabled by advances in manufacturing technology) by releasing the book Omega Rx Zone (which was originally published in 2002). The term "pharmaceutical-grade" and the International Fish Oil Standards program

The term pharmaceutical refers to continuous batches of Omega-3 Fish oils that have been sent to the wholly independent International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS) program that is run by the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, for testing for purity (along with oxidation levels) and toxicity, and that have each scored a perfect rating of 5 stars.

By going to the website address of IFOS, one will be able to ascertain manufacturers whose batches have received a perfect score. One needs to make sure though that the manufacturers that they want to buy from are sending each and every batch for testing to the IFOS. Guidelines for pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil to follow

Every batch is sent to IFOS for testing, each scoring a perfect rating of 5 stars.

Ideal ratio of EPA to DHA (2:1), based on studies done by Dr. Sears and others. If using a different ratio, a detailed explanation based on studies is required. Omapure, for example, another manufacturer of pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil, uses a different ratio.

Effectiveness of anti-oxidant formula, measured and tested by IFOS independently (currently not done). Omega-3 Fish oil is especially prone to oxidation and damage[3] when compared to vegetable oil, which makes the effectiveness of the anti-oxidant formula used for the Omega-3 Fish oil especially important, as long as it doesn't hinder the effectiveness of long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids. Dr. Sears agrees that oxidation, both in the bottle and internally, can pose a serious threat. He has conducted a private analysis of the liquid form of OmegaRx (which could potentially be more prone to oxidation than the capsule alternative) under regular usage conditions for up to 45 days, the suggested servings per bottle. The test results showed very low levels of oxidation if the bottle was kept in the freezer (which is the recommended storage medium for the liquid form of OmegaRx) after each use.

Requirements for EPA/DHA dosage

The requirements for EPA/DHA dosage vary with the degree of silent-inflammation (which can be dictated by the AA/EPA profile, also called the silent-inflammation profile). In the case of OmegaRx, where one serving (or one 5ml teaspoon) of the liquid form of OmegaRx contains 2.7g of EPA/DHA concentrate, the requirements are as follow:

To maintain wellness, 2.5 g/day

For overweight, obesity, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, or before starting a diet, 5 g/day

For chronic pain, 7.5 g/day

For existing neurological conditions, 10 g/day

It has been suggested that the liquid form of pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil may be more easily digested (or at the very least its rate of absorption is quicker) by the body than the capsule form.

It should be taken after a normal meal, so as to enhance its absorption.

Sesamol and dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid

EicoRx made by Dr. Sears contains a special formula that is composed of sesamol (which is derived from toasted sesame oil) and gamma-linolenic acid. Gamma-linolenic acid is the precursor of dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid, which in turn increases the production of anti-inflammatory eicosanoids. The problem stems from the fact that gamma-linolenic acid contains a spillover effect, whereby excess gamma-linolenic acid, even with additional supplemented EPA to block the delta-5-desaturase enzyme that in turn would otherwise continue to convert dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid into arachidonic acid, will produce a surplus of dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid. Depending on the person's genetics and diet, more of this surplus of dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid will get converted into arachidonic acid, hence increasing the production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids, and thus, silent-inflammation.

Due to the person's genetics and diet, the amount of gamma-linolenic acid needs to be fine-tuned on an individual basis in order for the benefits of gamma-linolenic-acid to come through.

However, Dr. Sears discovered that sesamol, a breakdown product of sesame lignans, and derived when the seeds are toasted before the extraction of the oil, is a more powerful inhibitor of the delta-5-desaturase enzyme than EPA. This meant that mixing specific amounts of sesamol with gamma-linolenic-acid would decrease the risk of the spillover effect, making it possible for the resulting pharmaceuticaul-grade Fish oil to further increase the body's internal cellular rejuventation potential.

However, Dr. Sears has also discovered that the sesamol was also activating the transcription factor PPAR-alpha, that caused an over-expression of the enzymes involved in the beta oxidation of long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids. The result was a reduction of the benefits of the Omega-3 fatty acids, not an enhancement. In short, EicoRx is not performing up to its potential, and can be said to be inferior to OmegaRx.

Because of this, EicoRx will be sesamol free by the end of September 2010, and will only contain a minimal amount of gamma-linolenic-acid. Dr. Sears has suggested that if the person is interested, to take a 75:25 ratio of OmegaRx to EicoRx, and to fine-tune this ratio based on the Eicosanoid Status Report[4], which can be subject to placebo effect. Taking a balanced ratio of OmegaRx to EicoRx can be a good idea, given its goal of increasing the levels of DGLA while inhibiting AA, but only if a more scientific method for fine-tuning this ratio on an individual basis can be found.

It is thus suggested, all-in-all, that a person take the liquid form of pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil. Pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil versus Flaxseed oil

Pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil is also superior to Flaxseed oil, and that is because the short-chain Omega-3 fatty acids in Flaxseed oil are very poorly converted to the long-chain Omega-3 fatty acid required (EPA and DHA) and that gives pharmaceutical-grade Fish oil its benefits. In short, pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil contains a much higher concentration of long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids per dosage than other alternatives such as Flaxseed oil.

Supplement-aided Polyphenols Background

Polyphenols are compounds that are typically found in vegetables and fruits, and have anti-inflammatory benefits at high enough concentrations, through the inhibition of the NF-kappaB transcription factor, through the reduction of excess free radicals, and through the activation of the PPAR-gamma transcription factor.

Free radicals

Free radicals can be likened to sparks that can ignite arachidonic acids into profound inflammation. One needs enough antioxidants to reduce these sparks, but one also needs a minimal level of free radicals in order to convert food into energy and to destroy invading microbes. Antioxidants work together in three groups, and if one group is missing, free radicals are not going to be reduced as well as possible.

The most likely points of attack for excess free radicals are the essential fatty acids in the membranes. The objective is to neutralize such oxidized lipids and to remove the source of oxidation from the body. These require three different types of antioxidants: fat-soluble, surface-active, and water-soluble.

Antioxidants work in groups and the last group are the water-soluble antioxidants, such as Vitamin C, that carry stabilized free radicals so that they can be broken down into inert compounds and excreted from the body.

The middle-members of the team are the surface-active antioxidants, or the phytochemicals known as polyphenols. Because of them, free radicals are shuttled from fat-soluble antioxidants to water-soluble antioxidants. They are thus the key to reducing excess free radical levels regardless of other antioxidants in the body. The use of supplement-aided polyphenols to inhibit NF-kappaB and activate PPAR-gamma

Because of the primary foundation of the anti-inflammation diet, a person is able to get a good portion of polyphenols.

These however can be further increased through the use of supplement-aided polyphenols, and supplement-aided polyphenols that increase anti-inflammatory effectiveness are thus key to the third stage. Supplement-aided liquid polyphenols should also be able to emulsify the liquid form of pharmaceutical-grade Fish oil and make it be better absorbed when taken synergistically together. Such a supplement-aided polyphenol is Seahealth Plus, made by Dr. Sears. Laboratory testing has demonstrated that the aloe vera and sea vegetables inside Seahealth Plus reduce the particle size of the fatty acids, thus enhancing their absorption.

It is suggested to take the liquid form of pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil along with Seahealth Plus (or any other equivalent supplement of polyphenols) after a normal anti-inflammation meal (first stage of the anti-inflammation diet), so as to make their absorption by the body as ideal as possible.

Exercise

Moderate, steady, and low-intensity exercise is all that is required. When thinking of exercise, one needs to think of what exercise is actually doing. Moderate, low-intensity exercise alleviates insulin resistance, which in turn helps reduce compromised fat that can collect on vital organs (lipotoxicity) and that can trigger the over-production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids and in turn cytokines.

Moderate, steady, and low-intensity exercise can also induce anti-inflammatory response and reduce stress (another component of inflammation).

However, on the other side, any type of exercise will cause some inflammation. The key is thus to minimize the negative effects of inflammation while maximizing the positive ones, by doing moderate, low-intensity exercise, such as cycling at a very moderate and steady pace, or walking, for twenty minutes a day.

The anti-inflammation diet has a 80/20 effectiveness ratio, meaning that 80% of its effectiveness comes from the first three stages, and the last 20% from moderate, steady, and low-intensity excercise.

Please consult with your doctor before taking aspirin. Only take low-dose baby aspirin combined with high-dose pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil with your doctor's approval.

Aspirin has been shown to cause death by internal bleeding. It is not known whether low-dose (40mg) baby aspirin significantly reduces this risk. Please proceed with caution, and only with your doctor's consent.

Low-dose aspirin has been shown to trigger the production of one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory eicosanoids ever known, epi-lipoxins. When combined with pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil, another group of powerful anti-inflammatory eicosanoids called resolvins are produced. It has also been thought that aspirin reduces the levels of inflammation inside unstable plaques (thus reducing the risk of them rapturing) by reducing the production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids inside of them. It is also thought that aspirin reduces the production of eicosanoids such as thromboxane A2, which sets into motion the aggregation of platelets leading to a clot.

The benefits shown have been limited to low-doses of aspirin. The higher the doses, the less epi-lipoxins that are made. Thus, acknowledging that this combination needs to be subjected to your doctor's approval, an ideal ratio could be of 40mg of aspirin (low-dose baby aspirin - about 1/2 a typical 80mg baby aspirin) to the liquid form of pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil (5g of EPA and DHA), along with two tablespoons of supplement-aided polyphenols with emulsifying effects (such as Seahealth Plus) for added polyphenols and emulsifying effects (through the use of Aloe vera and sea vegetables, that emulsify pharmaceutical-grade Omega-3 Fish oil and which are part of the ingredients of Seahealth Plus), to be taken after a normal anti-inflammation meal (first stage), for improved bioavailability.

Anti-Inflammation

Anti-inflammatory medications are commonly taken to treat conditions caused by inflammation such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendonitis, bursitis, gout, fever or menstrual cramps. These medications reduce chemical signals that cause pain and inflammation in the body, specifically at the injured area. Drug stores provide a variety of anti-inflammatory medications that a patient can choose from. To make the best choice, he must understand the risks and benefits of taking each one.

Naproxen

Naproxen, or Aleve, is a common over-the-counter (OTC) medication that a patient can choose to treat her particular condition. Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can reduce inflammation that a particular condition causes. In particular, naproxen, among other steroids, is recommended for chronic low back pain, states the Cochrane Review. Although effective in treating inflammatory conditions, naproxen may cause serious side effects. This medication can increase the risk of stomach bleeding or increase the risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems. These side effects typically occur in patients with existing problems or in those that chronically use naproxen. A patient should suspect stomach bleeding if she notices bloody vomit, bloody stools, stomach pain or nausea. Symptoms of heart or circulation problems include chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speed or vision problems.

Ibuprofen

Ibuprofen, or Advil, is a common medication used to treat inflammation. In July 2008, the European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology reported that ibuprofen was associated with better pain scale scores in 30 percent more patients than acetaminophen. Patients taking ibuprofen stated that pain interfered less with daily activities than those receiving acetaminophen. Ibuprofen is an NSAID that shares the same side effects as naproxen and other NSAIDs. Thus, a patient should seek immediate medical treatment is he experiences serious side effects. Aspirin

Aspirin is also considered one of the best OTC medications that a patient can take for pain relief. Specifically, the Journal of Neurology reports that aspirin is particularly effective in treating migraine headaches. In this study, aspirin was as effective as typical migraine medications and offered fewer side effects. Although effective for migraines, aspirin can also be used to treat other inflammatory conditions that may cause pain. Of note, aspirin inhibits platelets, which can result in long-term blood-thinning. Thus, a patient with a cut, bruise or other injury from trauma should seek emergency medical treatment to make sure that bleeding is adequately controlled. (read more)

Anti-Inflammation

There is no one anti-inflammatory diet, rather, there are diets designed around foods that are believed to decrease inflammation and which shun foods that aggravate the inflammatory processes. Many anti-inflammatory diets are based around whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fresh vegetables and fruits, wild fish and seafood, grass-fed lean turkey and chicken which are thought to aid in the bodies healing of inflammation. They exclude foods that are thought to trigger inflammation such as refined grains, wheat, corn, full-fat dairy, red meat, caffeine, alcohol, peanuts, sugar, saturated and trans-saturated fats.

The common foundation of anti-inflammatory diets is the belief that low grades of inflammation are the precursor and/or antagonizer to many chronic diseases. Once removed, the body can begin healing itself.

Beginning in the 1970s investigators began exploring physiological mechanisms of fever, weight loss, and acute phase responses to acute and chronic infection. Research results from these studies began to change the mainstream attitudes about disease pathogenesis. Accumulating evidence linked proteins, produced by macrophages and other immune cells, not pathogens, as formerly believed, to the cause of tissue damage and disease syndromes in experimental animals. Thus the medical profession began looking into original treatments for chronic diseases. Then in the 1980s, research showed that proteins, newly named cytokines, and hormone-like substances, named prostaglandins and leukotrienes, revealed that they possessed pleiotropic biological activities that were either beneficial or injurious to the bodies’ tissues.

From this research emerged the cytokine theory of disease. The concept that cytokines produced by the immune system, can cause the signs, symptoms, and damaging after effects of chronic diseases. Change did not occur until the measurement of C-reactive protein (CRP), a marker of inflammation circulating in the blood, was proposed as a method to identify persons at risk of chronic diseases. As pioneering research began to show that higher levels of C-reactive protein was linked to heart disease, conventional thought among the medical profession began. Originally discovered by W. S. Tillett and T. Francis Jr. in 1930, C-reactive protein was discovered as a substance in the serum of patients diagnosed with acute inflammation that reacted with the C-polysaccharide of pneumoccocus.

Today, a growing consensus among medical professionals is that inflammation is believed to play a role in the pathogenesis of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and colon cancer to name a few. Mainstream thinking is beginning to accept that treating the underlying cause may ameliorate cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, inflammation caused by visceral adipose tissue.

Inflammation is a localized reaction of tissue to injury, whether caused by bacteria or viral infection, trauma, chemicals, heat or other phenomenon that. KEY TERMS

Inflammation: Swelling, redness, heat, and pain produced in an area of the body as a reaction to injury or infection.

Chronic disease:—an illness or medical condition that lasts over a long period of time and sometimes causes a long-term change in the body.

C-reactive protein (CRP):—a marker of inflammation circulating in the blood has been proposed as a method to identify persons at risk of these diseases.

Flavonoid: refers to compounds found in fruits, vegetables, and certain beverages that have diverse beneficial biochemical and antioxidant effects.

Anti-oxidant: A chemical compound or substance that inhibits oxidation. A substance, such as vitamin E, vitamin C, or beta-carotene.

The irritation causes the tissues within the body to release multiple substances that cause changes within the tissues. This complex response is called inflammation. Inflammation is characterized by such symptoms that include (1) vasodilatation of the local blood vessels resulting in excess local blood flow, (2) increases in the permeability of the capillaries with leakage of large quantities of fluid into the interstitial spaces, (3) May include clotting of the fluid in the interstitial spaces due to excess amounts of fibrinogen and other proteins leaking from the capillaries, (4) relocation of granulocytes and monocytes into the tissue in large quantities, thus (5) swelling of the tissue cells.

The common substances released from the tissues that result in inflammation are histamine, bradykinin, serotonin, prostaglandins, multiple hormonal substances called lymphokines that are released by sensitized T-cells and various other reaction products of other systems within the body. Many of these substances activate the macrophage system, which are sent out to dispose of the damaged tissue but also which further injure the still-living tissue and cells.

General anti-inflammatory medical treatments include relaxation, moderate exercise such as walking, weight maintenance or loss, and medications designed to reduce the inflammation and control the pain if present.

These medications may include: ibuprofen or aspirin, Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), or steroid medications. The NSAIDs are widely used as the initial form of therapy. Unfortunately, long-term use of these medications can irritate the stomach and lead to ulcers. And in some cases can lead to kidney, as well as other medical problems.

Registered dietitians, and Naturopathic physicians often prescribe diets to lessen the inflammatory symptoms of diseases. Although these diets have not been compared to other treatments in many formal research settings to date, it is thought that anti-inflammatory diets result in a reduced amount of inflammation and a healthier response by the immune system.

Adding foods that reduce inflammation is thought to improve symptoms of chronic diseases and help decrease risk for chronic diseases. These foods help in supplying the nutrients that are needed to decrease inflammation. One example is omega-3 fatty acids. The human body uses these fats to manufacture prostaglandins, chemicals that play an important role in inflammation and a healthy immune response. Another beneficial component of fish oil that plays an important role is eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), an essential fatty acid derived from omega-3 fatty acids. EPA promotes the production of certain forms of prostaglandins having anti-inflammatory properties by reducing inflammation and decreasing the production of inflammatory substances.

Whole grains

Whole grains or foods made from them, whether cracked, crushed, rolled, extruded, and/or cooked, contain the essential parts and nutrients of the entire grain seed. Research has shown that diets high in whole grain products are associated with decreased concentrations of inflammatory markers and increased adiponectin levels. The protective effects of a diet highin whole grains on systemic inflammation may be explained, in part, by reduction in overproduction of oxidative stress that results in inflammation.

A whole grain will include the following parts of the grain kernel–the bran, germ and endosperm. Such whole grains are amaranth, barley, bulgur, wild rice, millet, oats, quinoa, rye, spelt, wheat berries, buckwheat, and whole wheat.

Legumes

Diets high in legumes are inversely related to plasma concentrations of C-reactive protein (CRP). Among the many varieties of legumes are; pinto beans, lentils, kidney beans, borlotti beans, mung beans, soybeans, cannelloni beans, garbanzo or chickpeas, adzuki beans, fava beans, and black beans. Nuts, seeds

Nuts and seeds are rich in unsaturated fat and other nutrients that may reduce inflammation. Frequent nut consumption is associated with lower levels of inflammatory markers. This may explain why there is a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes with frequent nut and seed consumption. With the exception of peanuts, be sure to add in walnuts, flax seeds and pumpkin seeds. Nuts and seeds are best eaten when unsalted and raw. Fresh vegetabless

Green leafy vegetables, and brightly colored vegetables provide beta-carotene; vitamin C and other antioxidants have been shown to reduce cell damage and to have anti-inflammatory effects. Aim for 3 or more servings per day. Fresh fruits

Flavonoids found in fresh fruits among other substances are thought to increase the antioxidant effects of vitamin C. research has shown that fruits have an anti-inflammatory effect. Aim for two or more servings daily. Be sure to include berries in your weekly choices of fruits such as blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries. Wildfish and seafood

Oily fish such as Herring, Mackerel, Salmon and Trout are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, as are shellfish such as mussels and clams. Including fish or seafood high in omega-3 fatty acids at least three times a week is recommended. Lean poultry

Protein is used in the body to repair and manufacture cells, make antibodies, enzymes and hormones. Lean protein has been associated with lower levels of inflammatory biomarkers.

When choosing poultry, choose grass-fed animals, which tend to have a higher amount of essential fatty acids. Select poultry with limited amounts of, or free of, preservatives, sodium, nitrates or coloring. Also, in an ideal diet, only 10-12% of daily calories should come from protein. On average, an adult needs 0.36 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Soy products

Anti-inflammatory properties of the isoflavones, a micronutrient component of soy, have been reported in several experimental models and disease conditions. Data suggests the possibility of beneficial effects of isoflavone-rich soy foods when added to the diet. Soy products include; soybeans, edema me, tofu, tempeh, soymilk, as well as many other products made from soybeans. Oils

Expeller pressed Canola oil and Extra Virgin Olive oil are types of oils that have been linked to reduced inflammation. Other oils thought to aid in reducing inflammation include rice bran, grape seed, evening primrose and walnut oil. It is suggested to use these oils in moderation when cooking, baking and flavoring of foods. Also, when purchasing oils, make sure they are pure oils rather than blended oils. Blended oil usually contains less healthful oils. Water in the form offresh drinking water free of toxic chemicals

Water is an essential substance for every function of the body. It is a medium for chemical processes; a solvent for body wastes and dilutes their toxicity and aids in their excretion. Water aids in ingestion, absorption and transport of vital nutrients that have anti-inflammatory effects. Water is also needed for basic cell functioning, repairing of body tissues and is the base of all blood and fluid secretions.

Herbs and Spices

A greater amount of research is emerging on the antioxidant properties of herbs and spices and their use in the management of chronic inflammation. Herbs and spices can be used in recipes to partially or wholly replace less desirable ingredients such as salt, sugar and added saturated fat, know for theirinflammatory effects, thus reducing the damaging properties of these foods.

Foods that irritate inflammation

Best referred to in research articles as ‘the western dietary pattern’, it credits a diet that is high in refined grains, red meat, butter, processed meats, high-fat dairy, sweets and desserts, pizza, potato, eggs, hydrogenated fats, and soft drinks. This pattern of eating is positively related to an increase in circulating blood CRP levels and higher risks for chronic diseases, obesity and cancers. These foods, termed ‘pro-inflammatory’ may increase inflammation, thus increasing a persons risk for chronic diseases as well as exacerbate symptoms from these chronic conditions.

There is some support for the belief that food sensitivities or allergens to foods may be a trigger for inflammation. Often hard to detect with common blood tests, some people have seen alleviation of symptoms of chronic diseases, such as arthritis, when the aggravating foods are removed from their diet. Common allergic foods are milk and dairy, wheat, corn, eggs, beef, yeast and soy.

Other pro-inflammatory foods have been shown to have substances that activate or support the inflammatory process. Unhealthy trans fats and saturated fats used in preparing and processing certain foods are linked to increased inflammation. Processed meats such as lunchmeats, hot dogs and sausages contain chemicals such as nitrites that are associated with increased inflammation and chronic disease.

Saturated fats naturally found in meats, dairy products and eggs contain fatty acids called arachidonic acid. While some arachidonic acid is essential for health, excess arachidonic acid in the diet has been shown to worsen inflammation.

Research supports that diets high in sugar produce acute oxidative stress within the cells, associating it with inflammation. Elimination of high sugar foods such as sodas, soft drinks, pastries, presweetened cereals and candy has been shown to be beneficial. As well as switching from refined grains to whole grains. Anti-Inflammation

Anti-Inflammation

One of the painful disease and is often reduced her pain with drugs is a disease Arthritis. Today’s arthritis is already a very common disease and epidemic. I realize if you talk to arthritis, there are more than a hundred types of arthritis where the cause of disease vary and the cause is different. Only one person is the same that is going to feel the pain that is sometimes very extraordinary. And some are more acute levels, resulting in certain parts of the body can not function anymore.

If we hear the word “itis” means inflammation of the disease involves problems such as arthritis, ie Arthritis, Inflammation in the Colon (Colitis), inflammation of the lungs (bronchitis), inflammation of the sinuses (sinusitis), and no more disease involving inflammation but slightly different name is eczema, which is inflammation of the skin, ashma, inflammation of the respiratory tract, and others. At first when inflammation occurs, it signifies that the body is responding to these issues and try to solve it, and that’s the way the body cope with such infections. There is also a joke about those "itis boys" being the worst bullies on the block!

Sometimes when the body can overcome the source / cause of the inflammation but also inflammation itself is not lost, then the use of drugs for the short term can accelerate the healing process. However, if the root cause of the inflammation can not be overcome and we use anti-inflammatory drugs, then we can be fooled and ignored the source of the disease. The point we feel that we’ve recovered, it does not feel pain anymore, because these drugs are covered and therefore the real problem It can be very dangerous. Actually, why the body can feel pain? Pain that is felt by our bodies is triggered by certain chemicals called inflammatory mediators, these chemical elements produced by the body to respond to tissue damage.

If pain and inflammation is prolonged, then this tissue will be damaged, in cases of arthritis, joints become hard and stiff, over time these parts can not be used again. How anti-inflammatory drugs work? In general, the workings of these drugs is to block the inflammatory chemical / chemicals in the body that cause inflammation. For example, the drug category of NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), which in Indonesia is called non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), work by stopping the formation of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are made of omega-6 derivative, called arachidonic acid (found in many meat and dairy). And to note, prostaglandin called PGE2 which is what causes pain.

More specifically, the crucial enzyme that makes prostaglandins PGE2, which will be blocked, there are two types of this enzyme, called cyclooxygenase) COX-1 and COX-2. It works by blocking one of the elements, such as the COX enzyme is absolutely no safe way out. As is known, the chemical processes in the body is very complex, and by blocking one of the aspects of chemistry, will surely cause a chain effect of other, that’s why all the drugs without exception almost certainly have harmful side effects.

More detailed painkiller side effects? Let’s take the example of conventional medicine is very popular aspirin. This drug will inhibit the enzyme COX-1 and COX-2 which in turn is very efficacious in eliminate pain. Actually not that simple things, more deeply we will see, that COX-1 enzyme can be categorized as good, because it also serves to protect the intestinal lining and kidneys, it causes coagulation / blood clotting normally. So if COX-1 is inhibited, the pain disappears, the blood will not be condensed, but the intestine is damaged. COX-2 enzyme that is evil, because the enzyme that causes the pain we feel. And if COX-2 was inhibited, pain will be reduced, but coagulation / blood clotting will increase. Drugs such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen can not distinguish them, and attacked the two enzymes COX-1 and COX-2 is. Consequently, the increased risk of bleeding in the stomach / gastrointestinal, and long-term negative effects for the liver and kidneys.

Another negative effect is rarely mentioned, aspirin and NSAIDs other similar drugs will actually make the damage caused by arthritis worse. These drugs will stop the production of collagen and other materials and accelerating damage to the joints. Therefore, there was thinking why did not inhibit COX-2 is evil? It gives birth to a new drug that was once very popular of Vioxx. Vioxx was initially greeted with great expectations and was very successful Under normal circumstances, turned out to COX-1 and COX-2 should work in balance.

COX-1 which although is good, it will also constrict blood vessels and make blood cells called platelets less sticky. Here lies one of the role of COX-2 are categorized evil, COX-2 will serve as an antidote that will help to platelet clumping is not sticky to one another and dilate blood vessels. Just in time not too long finally at the end of 2004, the drug Vioxx should be withdrawn from circulation because it has led to increased heart attack for its users and improving the brain cell damage is more severe in the case of stroke.

There is one kind of another drug that is commonly used in Indonesia, named Paracetamol, or if in America called Acetaminophen, the drug is classified as NSAIDs but it works differently. He did not block the COX enzyme, but similar increase in brain chemicals called opioids, which thus would make the brain less sensitive to pain. Is this drug safe? Paracetamol is very highly toxic to the liver. This drug is one of the causes of the wearer should perform liver transplants.

And of course this is because the use of an over-dose, in normal usage according to the instructions of doctors and was not prolonged, the drug is relatively safe. In Indonesia, many young people and parents who use these drugs to calm down a very dangerous bet. Before the more modern drugs were found, there is a painkiller called Cortisone popular.

The drugs with the basic ingredients of other steroids. Cortisone is a derivative of the hormone produced naturally in the body that is in the adrenal glands above the kidneys. In the 1980s, these drugs are most popularly used as a painkiller and to treat arthritis. Unfortunately these drugs also have side effects quite dangerous. Once used in the body’s adrenal glands will stop producing cortisone, and even after coming off the drug even this, the adrenal gland is difficult to recover as usual. This drug will also suppress immune system so that users are more vulnerable to infection. Again we reiterate, all the drugs that we have mentioned none of which functions as a healer of disease, drugs that serve only as relievers symptoms and they all have side effects that sometimes is fatal when used in long term .

If we are already seeing great risk from these drugs, then what alternative? One of the most famous in the handling of joint pain without drugs is Glucosamine. Glucosamine is an amino acid molecule combined with simple sugars and become one of the raw materials formation of cartilage. Every day the cells in these joints should be revised, therefore, need an adequate supply of glucosamine. If supplies are not sufficient, it will occur this degenerative diseases such as arthritis. By eating natural foods rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, glucosamine needs will be fulfilled. Eat foods such as beans, whole grains, brown rice, broken rice skin, oats, soybeans, sweet. Sulphur.

If glucosamine is considered as a frame building, the sulfur can be described as nails. This is very much a function of sulfur, among others, can reduce pain, inflammation, toxins expenditure / detoxification, and formation of cell networks. The most effective source is methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). If these MSM combined with glucosamine, the effect will be even more effective. Many sulfur-containing foods are asparagus, broccoli, onions and garlic. Omega 3 fats. In the past people have a misconception, though by consuming fish oil, will be able to lubricate joints. The truth is that this fat is used to reduce pain and inflammation. Therefore, for people with arthritis, the consumption of foods rich in omega 3 like Flaxseed, Walnut, Pumpkin seed will be very helpful.

Turmeric contains curcumin, also works well as an anti-inflammatory, as well as ginger. Frequently eat pineapple, because rich in bromelain, very good for reducing inflammation. Eat a diet rich in antioxidants and vitamin C every day, eat vegetables and fruits for the adequacy of this nutrient. What should be avoided? Reduce to a minimum of fat / oil. Eliminate all milk, dairy products, red meat, caffeine, salt, sugar and tobacco. For patients with gout, avoid meat offal and its high purine. While formerly avoid tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, pepper. To reduce pain / pain, can also compress with alternating ice and warm water.

Also what should be done? Often soaking up the sun in the morning, in order to get enough vitamin D for bone formation. Regular exercise is very important to reduce the pain. But it should be noted also not to provide excessive burden on the ailing part. If you are overweight, then weight must be reduced.

There is another option for relief of inflammation. Natural ingredients found in Nopales from TriVita, assist the body in naturally and quietly eliminating dangerous inflammation. This pleasing, and very effective way is the choice of tens of thousands of users around the country. (read more)

Anti-Inflammation Foods

Chronic, low-grade inflammation almost always lurks beneath the surface of diabetes and excess weight. You can’t usually see or feel the damage, but this type of inflammation significantly increases the risk of coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death among people with diabetes. Low-grade inflammation has also been linked to an increased risk of cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Your doctor can measure it with the “high-sensitivity C-reactive protein,” or CRP, test.

Processed sugars and other high-glycemic starches increase inflammation, just as they raise blood sugar, according to an article in the March 2002 American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Aspirin, ibuprofen, and many other drugs reduce inflammation, but they pose a risk of side effects and no doctor’s going to suggest taking these drugs on a regular basis because your CRP is elevated. However, many foods have anti-inflammatory benefits, and the only side effects are other stellar health benefits. Here are 10 of the best:

Salmon. Coldwater fish, including salmon, contain anti-inflammatory fats called omega-3s. Wild salmon has more of these super-healthy fats than does farmed salmon.

Shopping tip: All salmon from Alaska is wild, whereas Atlantic salmon is usually farmed. Herring, sardines, and tuna also contain omega-3s.

Grass-fed beef and other animal foods. As opposed to traditional, grain-fed livestock, meat that comes from animals fed grass also contains anti-inflammatory omega-3s, but in lower concentrations than coldwater fish. Free-range livestock that graze in pastures build up higher levels of omega-3s. Meat from grain-fed animals has virtually no omega-3s and plenty of saturated fat. Cooking tip: Unless it’s ground, grass-fed beef may be tougher, so slow cook it. Cows Eating Grass

Cooking oil. Olive oil is a great source of oleic acid, another anti-inflammatory oil. Researchers wrote in the October 2007 Journal of the American College of Nutrition that those who consume more oleic acid have better insulin function and lower blood sugar. Shopping tip: Opt for extra-virgin olive oil, which is the least processed, and use it instead of other cooking oils. Other “cold-pressed” or “expeller-pressed” oils can be good sources, too.

Salad Salads. Dark-green lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, and other salad veggies are rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, nutrients that dampen inflammation.

Suggestion: Opt for olive oil-and-vinegar salad dressing (vinegar helps moderate blood sugar) and skip the croutons.

VegetablesCruciferous vegetables. These veggies, which include broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and kale, are also loaded with antioxidants. But they provide one other ingredient sulfur that the body needs to make its own high-powered antioxidants, such as one called glutathione.

Cherries. A study in the April 2006 Journal of Nutrition showed that eating cherries daily can significantly reduce inflammation. Cherries are also packed with antioxidants and relatively low on the glycemic index.

Tip: Frozen cherries are available all year long and make a tasty dessert with a little yogurt or cheese.

Blueberries. These delectable fruits are chocked full of natural compounds that reduce inflammation. Blueberries may also protect the brain from many of the effects of aging. Frozen are usually less expensive than fresh—and just as good.

Turmeric. This spice contains a powerful, natural anti-inflammatory compound, according to a report in the August 2007 Biochemical Pharmacology. Turmeric has long been part of curry spice blends, used in southern Asian cuisines. To use: Buy powdered curry spice (which contains turmeric and other spices) and use it as a seasoning when pan-frying chicken breasts in olive oil.

Ginger. This relative of tumeric is also known for its anti-inflammatory benefits, and some research suggests that it might also help control blood sugar. Suggestion: Brew your own ginger tea. Use a peeler to remove the skin off a piece of ginger, then add several thin slices to a cup of hot water and let steep for a few minutes.

Garlic. The research isn’t consistent, but garlic may have some anti-inflammatory and glucose-regulating benefits and it may also help your body fight infections. At the very least, it won’t hurt and makes for a tasty addition to food. Kitchen tip: Dice garlic and fresh rosemary, and rub them on a whole chicken before roasting.

Green Tea. Like fruits and vegetables, green tea contains natural anti-inflammatory compounds. It may even reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. Suggestion: Drink a cup a day — or brew it like sun tea, refrigerate, and serve.

Granted, nutrition plays a huge rule in the overall health and well being of individuals. There are other significant tested methods of eliminating inflammation within the human body. Please visit the links listed below for that information.

Anti-Inflammation Insights

Inflammation is defined as a localized reaction of tissue to irritation, injury, or infection. Symptoms of inflammation include pain, swelling, red coloration to the area, and sometimes loss of movement or function. We commonly think of inflammation as the painful component of arthritis. Inflammation is also a component of chronic diseases such as heart disease and strokes.

Medical Anti-Inflammatory Treatments

Common medical anti-inflammatory treatments include rest, light exercise, weight maintenance, stretching, and medications designed to reduce the inflammation and control the pain. These medications include Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), steroid medications, and perhaps ultimately joint replacement surgery. The NSAIDs are widely used as the initial form of therapy.

For the most part NSAIDs are tolerated fairly well, although they can irritate the stomach and lead to ulcers. In some instances, long term use can lead to kidney problems.

Avoid Pro-Inflammatory Foods

Pro-inflammatory foods will increase inflammation, increase your pain from the inflammation and may also raise your risk for chronic disease. Loading up on junk foods, high-fat meats, sugar and fast foods will increase inflammation in your body. This is partially due to the unhealthy fats used in preparing and processing these foods, especially trans fats and saturated fats. Processed meats such as lunch meats, hot dogs and sausages contain chemicals such as nitrites that are associated with increased inflammation and chronic disease.

Saturated fats are also found in meats, dairy products and eggs. While all of these foods are important source of minerals and vitamins, you don't need the extra saturated fat. These foods also also contain fatty acids called arachidonic acid. While some arachidonic acid is essential for your health, too much arachidonic acid in the diet may make your inflammation worse. Be sure to choose low fat milk and cheese and lean cuts of meat, which will not promote inflammation.

Diets high in sugar have also been associated with inflammation, obesity and chronic disease such as diabetes. Eliminate high sugar foods such as sodas, soft drinks, pastries, pre-sweetened cereals and candy.

Another possible source of irritation comes from the nightshade family of plants. Whole fruits and vegetables are important to eat for their vitamins, minerals, and natural antioxidants. However some vegetables like potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplant may actually make pain from inflammation worse. These vegetables are part of the nightshade family of plants and contain a chemical alkaloid called solanine. Solanine can trigger pain in some people. While there isn't any formal research findings that back the claim about nightshade plants, some people believe they get relief from the symptoms of pain and inflammation.

Choose Anti-inflammatory Foods

Adding foods that reduce inflammation will improve how you feel and help to decrease your risk for chronic diseases. Here are some suggestions.

Fats and Oils

The right types of fats in your diet will impact pain and inflammation in a positive way. Omega-3 essential fatty acids are very powerful anti-inflammatory agents. They are found in cold water oily fish, walnuts, flax seeds, canola oil and pumpkin seeds. Adding omega-3 fatty acid supplements from flax oil or fish oil may also help reduce inflammation, just be sure to speak with a doctor or nutritionist before taking larger, therapeutic doses of any supplement, or follow label instructions.

Olive oil is another type of oil that will reduce inflammation. In fact, olive oil has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and will help to reduce pain. Other healthy oils include rice bran oil, grape seed oil, and walnut oil.

Protein

Your body needs protein to build healthy body tissues. Good protein sources include lean poultry, fish and seafood, nuts, legumes and seeds. Red meats may trigger inflammation, so cut back on fatty red meats. When you do eat red meat, choose lean cuts of bison, venison and other game meats, or the lowest-fat cuts of beef, preferably grass-fed beef.

Soybeans, tofu, and soy milk are three great sources of soy proteins that may help to reduce your pain and inflammation.

Carbohydrates and Fiber

Most of your carbohydrates should come from whole grains, vegetables and fruits. The bread, cereal and pasta in your diet should be mostly be 100% whole grain products. Whole grains are excellent sources of fiber, and a high fiber diet will reduce your inflammation.

Choose green leafy vegetables, green and brightly colored vegetables and lots of fresh whole fruits. You should eat at least five and preferably more servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Green vegetables and whole fruits are also important as sources of dietary fiber.

Berries are also a great food choice, especially blueberries and strawberries which are packed with anti-inflammatory phytochemicals and anti-oxidants. The pigments in brightly colored fruits, vegetables and berries contain many phytochemicals that have anti-inflammatory properties. One example is quercetin, which is found in apple and red onion skins and has strong anti-inflammatory properties.

Healthy Beverages

Your body needs water in the form of foods and beverages every day. The simplest and maybe best form of water is fresh drinking water. Other good fluid sources include 100% fruit juices, herbal teas, vegetable juices and low fat milk. About 20% of the water you need every day will come from the foods you eat.

Anti-inflammatory Diet Tips

Over all, when you are choosing anti-inflammatory foods to help reduce your inflammation and pain, choose fresh foods instead of heavily processed foods. Here are some tips:
Breakfast could be oatmeal served with fresh berries and walnuts, with a cup of soy milk.
Snack on whole fruits, nuts, seeds, and fresh vegetables throughout the day instead of cookies and candy.
Eat more fish and less fatty red meat.
Stay away from deep fried foods and bake or stir fry your meals instead.
Choose green, orange, and yellow vegetables for your side dishes.
Drink plenty of water, fresh 100% fruit and vegetable juices, herbal teas and green tea.

There is a very good product on the market today, that can assist people in ridding their bodies of harmful inflammation. The power of betalains Harnessing the power of betalains, a rare and potent class of antioxidants that flourish in the Nopal cactus, Nopalea delivers scientifically proven health benefits. This product is under strict supervision from TriVita. Here are some of the benefits of Nopalea Sonoran Bloom anti-inflammation product.

Detoxify your body

Every day, we’re exposed to toxins in our air, water and food—and even toxins created by our own bodies. Nopalea combines its betalains with other anti-toxic ingredients to combat these poisons where they strike us first: right inside the trillions of cells in our bodies.

By increasing the activity of CYP-2E1, a special enzyme that neutralizes daily toxins, Nopalea protects your cells and vital organs—especially your liver—against the carcinogens, hormone disruptors, respiratory toxins, developmental toxins and neurotoxins that are responsible for one-quarter of all the world’s diseases.

Reduce inflammation

When toxins assault your system—or when injury or infection strikes—your body responds with a complex biological process commonly referred to as inflammation. If this inflammation goes unchecked, it can lead to a wide variety of disorders, from stroke to arthritis to heart disease.

Nopalea specifically targets signs of inflammation in your body and reduces them quickly.1 Its betalains and other anti-inflammatory ingredients work directly on the fluid surrounding your cells. There, they draw off the toxins and excess water to reduce inflammation and rebalance the cellular environment.

Protect against premature aging Your skin is a miraculous covering that protects you from harm. Pollution, toxins, radiation and other potentially damaging influences are kept out of your body by your skin; vital organs are protected inside. One of the first signs of aging is thin, sagging, withered skin that is easily damaged.

Nopalea rushes to these damaged areas to shore up your protective layer. The betalains in Nopalea fill in the gaps of your cells (including the cells in your skin) and return them to the firm, robust nature of young cells — at any age. By providing a healthy environment for the cell, betalains keep it from withering.

Anti-Inflammation

How to deal with inflammation, or putting the fire out in your body, is of primary importance. Learning how to eat well, and live well, is the intent and purpose of these anti-inflammation articles. Dealing with inflammation by using one of the best products found on Google today, TriVita Sonoran Bloom Nopalea may help in this quest. TriVita, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, is dedicated to helping people deal effectively with issues through nutrition and natural products.

It has long been known that fish oils can help as part of an anti inflammation diet, but until recently we didn’t know exactly how. Now scientists have found out how they work and the overwhelming evidence of just how beneficial they are.

The important point to remember if you want an anti inflammation diet is that some inflammation is good!

This is the body’s way of fighting off infection and a natural defense mechanism. The problems come today with our poor diets and stressed lifestyles that leave us building up too much inflammation in the body which can lead to heart attacks and strokes if left unchecked.

Fish oils rich in the most important omega 3 fatty acid, DHA, have been shown to provide most of the benefits especially for heart and brain health.

American and British scientists recently found that the body converts DHA into a chemical called Resolvin D2 which has powerful anti-inflammatory qualities and can help to significantly reduce high levels in the body and so lower the risk of heart disease and ease the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and other serious joint problems.

With today’s poor diets and the low nutritional value of our food, it is important to add a fish oil supplement to ensure you get the proper benefits, especially as fresh fish contain so many toxins.

This will also give you additional benefits like improved brain health and mental well-being, protection against cancer especially breast and prostate, an improved immune system and treatment for age related eye disease to name just a few.

When looking for a fish oil supplement it’s best to get one that’s been distilled to remove the toxins like mercury and lead unless proven to be pure.

To get the most of the anti-inflammatory benefits, one high in DHA with at least 270mg per capsule is best. When Hoki oil and distilled Tuna oil are combined, you can get two and a half times more anti-inflammatory benefits than standard oil, so it’s worth looking out for.

Fish oil has got to be one of nature’s finest substances when you consider the wealth of health benefits it provides and the fact that it’s responsible for saving thousands of lives each year in the US alone.

If you make a daily fish oil supplement part of your anti inflammation diet, you will achieve far greater results and much better health now and especially in the future. (read more)

Anti-Inflammation

With the topic of anti-inflammation as the primary topic of concern these days, it will be helpful for the Google reader to know, and understand, some of the nutritional substances that show prominence. Below, are some of the most common anti-inflammation foods.

Omega-3 fatty acids - Most sea foods with fish oils are rich in this essential fatty acid. The vegetarian sources include flaxseed powder, walnuts, sesame and canola oil. All raw nuts also contain at least some omega-3 also. But my recommendation is to stay away from flaxseed products. New research has indicated that flax seed products consumed regularly will lower HDL, the good cholosterol.

Quercetin - This is an anti-inflammatory phytochemical of the flavonoid family. It is found in red grapes, onions, broccoli, garlic, and apples. Green apples, especially the skins, are known to promote the growth of healthy hair according to a large Japanese study.

Resveratrol - This is another phytochemical, very much in the news lately because of its benefit to the heart and blood vessels. It is found in red wine and red grapes. Supplement dealers are now selling "extract" of resveratrol, but why not go for the real thing - red wine in moderation and red grapes. There is that lure of taking a magic pill though.

Polyphenols - These are other anti-inflammatory phytochemicals found in highly colored berries like blueberries and blackberries. They are also rich in anthocyanins, a type of flavonoid that is protective of hair follicles. Cranberry juice if it's 100% is also full of these phytochemicals, but stay away from the cranberry "drinks" and other fruit drinks too. These are usually nothing but sugar, water, synthetic flavor, and some coloring - very high on the glycemic index.

Antioxidants - These protect the body from free-radical damage, the chain-reaction that erodes cell membranes (cell walls) throughout the body. Some of the foods I eat for their antioxidant effects are green and red peppers, loaded with vitamin C; canned tomatoes, rich in lycopene (protects against prostate problems too); and all kinds of dark leafy greens like spinach. If you make salads from these greens, stay away from most of the salad dressings you'll find at the stores. Almost 95% of them are loaded with high fructose corn syrup. (Paul Newman's salad dressings are the only ones I found without HFCS.) This chemical is a disaster making people fat around the middle.

Oleic acid - This contains the omega-9 fatty acid that helps the omega-3 function more efficiently. I use extra-virgin olive oil, high in omega-9, for everything, even putting a few drops on whole wheat toast. This is the best pro-inflammatory oil. Use it instead of the polyunsaturated oils like safflower, corn, and soybean.

Curcumin - Turmeric powder contains curcumin, an extremely powerful anti-inflammatory spice. I get it at Whole Foods and use it in soups and casseroles. I'm not enthusiastic about the taste of this spice though.

Alpha-lipoic acid - This antioxidant is found in most meats and vegetables and is easily absorbed, but some researchers like Dr. Lester Packer of UC Berkeley suggest taking an alpha-lipoic acid supplement. Juvenon, which also contains acetyl-L carnitine, is an excellent although expensive alpha-lipoic acid supplement.

Inflammation is a process by which the body’s white blood cells and chemicals protect us from infection and foreign substances such as bacteria and viruses.

When inflammation occurs normally, chemicals from the body’s white blood cells are released to protect us from foreign substances. Sometimes, however, the white blood cells and their inflammatory chemicals cause damage to the body’s tissues.

In some diseases, however, the body’s defense system (immune system) inappropriately triggers an inflammatory response when there are no foreign substances to fight off. In these diseases, called autoimmune diseases, the body’s normally protective immune system causes damage to its own tissues. The body responds as if normal tissues are infected or somehow abnormal.

Along with proper nutrition, there is a new anti-inflammation product found on Google that is assisting people around the country, in ridding their bodies of harmful inflammation, it adds numerous nutritional supplements which further assist the process of natural function. That product is called Sonoran Bloom Nopalea. Found in the desert Southwest, the Nopal Cactus contains within it, the natural healing power used by untold generation of the Southwest Desert Dwellers. Trying Nopalea as an inflammation remedy and detoxifier, just makes sense in this world of stress and toxins. (read more)

Inflammation

Inflammation is on the rise in this fast paced technological world. For thousands of years the native people of the Sonoran Desert have relied on the amazing healing properties of the indigenous plants and cacti.

Inflammation (Latin, inflammare, to set on fire) is part of the complex biological response of vascular tissues to harmful stimuli, such as pathogens, damaged cells, or irritants.[1] Inflammation is a protective attempt by the organism to remove the injurious stimuli and to initiate the healing process. Barefoot Healthy Living: Do you need Herb-Lax?

This site is especially for people who are seeking answers about Shaklee products and business.

It's a fact of the natural healing profession for many years, and is recently being validated by the medical physicians, well over 90% of degenerative disease conditions can be related directly to intestinal stasis meaning, a stagnant, fermenting condition within the bowels and related organs. This does not necessarily correspond to actual known constipation.

Someone can move his bowels many times a day, and still be encumbered with dead cells, decaying food materials, poisonous chemicals, parasites, pus, mucus, etc., all of which contribute to the circulation of toxins throughout the whole body, giving rise to an endless chain of disease conditions.

These facts should be taken into consideration when nutrition programs and vitamin therapy are introduced for the first time. The body’s response to a proper nutrition program is to start releasing stored toxins from the cells and this puts more stress on organs of elimination (colon, kidneys, lungs, liver, blood, and skin)

Many times these organs are already malfunctioning from past intake of drugs, additives, and refined, processed and overcooked foods. The result of this could be symptoms of nausea, weakness, headaches, rashes, and tiredness.

To prevent this from happening, Dr. Shaklee invented HERB-LAX, a combination of nine different herbs that help detoxify the body through better, more complete, elimination.

It is important to understand that herbs are not in any way related to the artificial colon—cleansers promoted online or in other media. Herbs do not act like ordinary laxatives that irritate the tissues and force the bowel to eject its contents This weakens the organs and causes dependencies. But herbs, being a food, nourish the bowel and related organs to strengthen them so that they will function entirely on their own, effectively eliminating waste materials.

It is hard to say how many HERB-LAX an individual should use, since each person differs. Choose the dose that gives you two to three soft, easy bowel movements daily. This can range from one half to 30 per day (in the case of Diverticulitis).

Those who are faithful in using HERB-LAX for internal cleanliness will get surprising good side effects as days, weeks and months go by. These include a better complexion, no headaches, no bad breath, little odor during bowel movements, plus more energy and clearer thinking.

You can hardly study the Shaklee product Herb-Lax® without gaining a profound respect for our founder Forrest C. Shaklee, Sr. What an amazing mind he had to conceive such a product at the time he did. Remember, interest in herbal medicines had waned considerably during the middle of the last century.

Shaklee Herb-Lax was the second Shaklee product developed, and it has truly withstood the "test of time" remaining one of Shaklee's favorite products. Dr. Shaklee knew that proper elimination of waste from the bowel is one of the keys to optimal health. It is said that 90% of degenerative diseases are related to, or worsened by, the food we eat passing too slowly through our intestinal system.

The fact that Herb-Lax® contains Senna leaf powder and is therefore a laxative is a no-brainer. Practically everyone in the medical or herbal community would understand that. Dr. Shaklee made his signature product unique by blending an additional eight herbs with the Senna leaf powder to enhance its use - to speed up the movement of foodstuffs through the intestinal system.

DR Shaklee was able to accomplish this without the usual unwanted side effects of taking a laxative. Something to consider is the label states a serving size of four tablets. That would indeed cause a gentle bowel movement within several hours, by taking less than the serving size, you effectively speed up the flow of food and waste through the intestinal tract without causing diarrhea.

Why does herblax work the way it does? Certainly, several of the herbs contained in this product produce a laxative action. In addition to Senna leaf powder, buckthorn bark powder, licorice root, blue malva powder, and culver root all have shown some laxative action.

They do, however, along with the other herbs present, fulfill other functions within the GI tract to complete the action.

For example, licorice root, alfalfa, fennel seed and anise seed aid in digestion. Licorice root also reduces the production of stomach acid (good for heartburn?); and relieves gas, as does anise seed. Anise seed also acts to relieve stomach cramps. Rhubarb is unusual in that in can cause a laxative effect, and it has the opposite effect in small doses!

Bottom Line: DR Shaklee knew what he was doing by combining all these natural herbs into one fantastic product called HERBLAX. Today it's still one of our best selling products. Why because it flat out works and it's very cost effective.

What's eating you Acid?

"Exclusive breakthrough reveals—dangerously high acid levels in your body may be the hidden cause behind many health problems.

For optimal health, your body needs at least 72 trace minerals every day to protect you from the ravages of high acidity... the foods you eat only give you about EIGHT of them".

The above is a quote from AOL. This is news? Or is it news? Today, flashing across your computer screen, often, it sounds as if some company has just discovered nature!

For my past several Years in Shaklee, when I have presented the values of our nutritional products, I have always started out with two factors. The first is: Improving your digestion will improve your health, and secondly, I feel it is important to address the topic of acid-alkaline balance.

At that time, I present our Shaklee Alfalfa. The typical diet in our country disrupts the acid-alkaline balance. Meats and grains, (the most frequent choice), are acid forming. We, Americans just do not eat enough veggies or green foods. Some references state the average vegetable is only ten to thirty units alkaline, whereas alfalfa is one of the very highest ranking alkaline foods. This factor is very important in maintaining healthy joints. You would have to consume a huge amount of veggies to equal the amount of alkalinity you will receive from alfalfa.

However, Just any alfalfa does not meet all the requisites. Shaklee Alfalfa is organically grown, using not the stems of the plant, but the tender green leaves. And the Shaklee process does not expose the nutrients to any degree of heat which would destroy the bio-availability, or as Dr Shaklee would refer to "the life force of the plant".

I remember Dr Shaklee, at one time said: "If I had to choose only one product, it would be Alfalfa." I think its is because alfalfa provides not only the important minerals and vitamins, but also the trace minerals not found in other foods, and it provides enzymes to aid in digestion and some protein and the important alkalinity.

Shaklee Alfalfa Testimonial: Forty years ago, I was diagnosed with arthritis & bursitis. The doctors prescribed Darvon. I knew better than to take something that would merely address the symptoms of pain. I wanted to remove the cause, not the just the symptoms. At that time I had not heard about Shaklee. Fortunately, for me, someone I met casually, recommended Shaklee Alfalfa to me. She was not in Shaklee and I never saw her again. I wish I knew who she was so I could express my gratitude. Maybe that is one reason I find it so easy and practically essential to share the good news everywhere I go. We never know what a difference we may make in someone’s life.

It is important to remember, we never diagnose nor prescribe. Dr Shaklee said "When someone asks you what is good for arthritis, you could respond: You don’t want anything good for arthritis, you want something bad for arthritis and good for your body".

Another Dr. Shaklee quote: "We do not treat dis-ease we just treat the body fairly" Another favorite quote is in response to the question: How Many do I take? Dr Shaklee said "Do you count the peas on your plate, this is food."

"They aren’t pills, they won’t cure your ills, they’re just plain food, AND they will improve your mood". The point is we must emphasize wellness and prevention of disease with our food supplements.

Barefoot Healthy Living: Cleanse and Detox Program

A message from...
Cindy McAsey- Mom w/family and a farm full of animals ~ chasing em til I am 90

Lets face it we are what we eat... Have you ever eaten one of those big fat juicy McDonalds hambugers? I think most of us have. What a bag of greesy potato chips. The liver works harder when it's dealing with heavy, greasy, refined foods. Unfortunatly the garbage that goes in our body doesn't always come out completly. Did you know with a proper detox some folks can loose 20 lbs of weight? Generally that weight is noticed most around the middle. (belly fat)

Detox or cleansing diets can include water, potions, fruit and vegetable juice, raw food, herbal supplements or a combination of approaches. Proponents say they're necessary because our bodies take a lot of abuse from modern life. Conventional doctors, meanwhile, say the lungs, kidneys, liver and skin are perfectly capable of detoxifying on their own. At the very least, there may be an emotional benefit associated with starting over. To detox safely you can consume lots of fresh, raw and organic fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes nuts and seeds. The hard part is finding products are actually what they say they are. The regulations for "organic" labeling are pretty loose to say the least!

The Power of Protein on Barefoot Healthy Living

The Power of Protein

It's essential to the growth, repair, and maintenance of all body tissues. It's also required for making enzymes - catalysts essential to all life processes, and hormones - powerful chemical messengers that circulate through your bloodstream to specific target cells, where they generate a wide range of biological responses. It also helps your body maintain fluid and electrolyte balance, provides a source of energy, and helps your body fight off disease. These are the powers of protein!

These powers are made possible by consuming adequate amounts of dietary protein from a variety of lean meats, fish, and poultry, as well as soy and milk, which supply the body with amino acids, the basic building blocks from which the body can make its own body proteins.

Not All Protein Is Created Equal
Foods provide about 20 different amino acids, of which more than half are considered to be nonessential.?In other words, the body can make them for itself. However, nine other amino acids are considered "essential," meaning the body is unable to make them on its own. And unlike the carbohydrates and fats we consume, amino acids are not stored in the body. Therefore, the body must rely on a constant and steady supply from the protein-rich foods we eat every day.

So what are the best sources of dietary protein? And is there a difference between animal and vegetable sources? Well, it's true that not all dietary protein is created equal. It really is the protein quality of one's diet that, in large part, determines how well a child will grow and develop and how well an adult will maintain his or her health. Put simply, high-quality proteins provide enough of all the essential amino acids needed to support the body's work, and lower-quality proteins don't. Two key factors that influence protein quality are the protein's digestibility and its amino acid composition. Protein digestibility is a measure of the amount of amino acids absorbed from a given protein intake, and amino acid composition refers to the simultaneous availability of all the needed amino acids from a food we choose to eat. In general, animal-sourced proteins (meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy) are considered high-quality proteins, as is soy, a vegetable-sourced protein. However, other vegetable proteins tend to be of much lower quality and are often referred to as "incomplete" proteins because they do not provide all the essential amino acids the body needs. Incomplete proteins can come from fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts.

Health Benefits
When most of us think about the health benefits of dietary protein, its role in bodybuilding comes to mind and rightly so. No new body tissue can be built without it. However, research also suggests that the intake of high-quality protein in the context of an overall healthful diet may also have positive effects on our body weight and body composition as we age, as well as play a role in the prevention of chronic diseases such as heart disease, certain types of cancer, and osteoporosis.

  • Weight Management: Studies have shown that achieving a healthy weight and maintaining that weight can help add years to your life, and scientists believe that dietary protein may play an important role in weight management. High-protein diets may promote significantly more weight loss compared to lower protein diets because of protein's role in promoting satiety In a fairly recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers studied the effects of increasing dietary protein while maintaining carbohydrate content on weight loss, appetite, calorie intake, and fat mass in a small group of study participants. Initially, participants were instructed to follow a weight-maintaining diet (50% carbohydrate, 15% protein, 35% fat) for two weeks. Then for the following two weeks, they were asked to follow a diet providing the same amount of calories but with 50% of calories coming from carbohydrate, 30% from protein, and 20% from fat. Two weeks later, they were given an ad libitum diet of  50% carbohydrate, 30% protein, and 20% fat to follow for an additional 12 weeks. Even though subjects could eat as much food as they wanted in those 12 weeks, they actually reduced their calorie intake by an average of 441 calories per day. They also lost an average of 10.8 pounds in body weight and 8.2 pounds of body fat.
  • Age-Related Muscle Loss: After about age 40, most adults will lose anywhere between 0.5% and 1% of their skeletal muscle mass each year. And in the early years, this gradual loss may go unnoticed because it might be masked by a concurrent increase in body fat. However, chronic muscle loss?or what is known as sarcopenia?is estimated to affect  about 30% of people over age 60 and may affect more than 50% of those over age 80. Insufficient protein intake in older adults can contribute to a loss of muscle, and although the optimal amount of protein to prevent or offset the progression of sarcopenia has yet to be established, research findings suggest that protein intakes modestly above the present recommended dietary allowance of 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight per day (i.e. 1 gram per kilogram of body weight per day or higher) enhance muscle mass in older adults who regularly perform resistance exercise. Protein intake in older adults also appears to have a more beneficial effect when consumed within an hour or so of resistance exercise. Emerging research also suggests that dairy protein, especially whey protein, may minimize sarcopenia because of its high concentration of leucine, an amino acid known to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. For example, findings in older adults suggest that increasing leucine intake may help restore the protein synthesis response to protein-containing meals, which has been shown to diminish with age.
  • Cardiovascular Disease: One concern that has been raised about the trend in high-protein diets for weight loss has been that eating diets high in protein and fat, and low in carbohydrate, would harm the heart. However, recent research findings suggest that if done in a healthy way, eating a little more protein, especially vegetable protein, while cutting back on refined carbohydrates may actually benefit the heart. A 20-year prospective study of 82,802 women found that those who ate low-carbohydrate diets high in vegetable sources of fat or protein had a 30% lower risk of heart disease, compared to women who ate high-carbohydrate, low-fat diets. But women who ate low-carbohydrate diets that were high in animal fats or proteins did not have a reduced risk of heart disease.
  • Cancer: There's no good evidence that eating a little protein or a lot of it significantly influences cancer risk. However, eating a lot of red meat (cured and processed meats, in particular) has been linked to an increased risk of colon cancer. There also has been considerable investigation of the potential of soy-protein-containing foods to reduce the risk of cancer, especially breast cancer. In a fairly recent review of studies based on Asian populations, higher soy intake was associated with an overall 29% decreased risk of breast cancer. Despite these positive findings, the relationship between soy foods and breast cancer risk has been controversial because of data gathered from cell culture and animal studies that suggest isoflavones (the plant-estrogen-like compounds in soy foods) stimulate the growth of estrogen-sensitive breast cancer cells. This has led to questions about the safety of soy consumption in women with a history of breast cancer or women at high risk for the disease. Research continues in this area, but it?s important to point out that several lines of existing evidence suggest that women with breast cancer can safely consume soy. First, human studies have shown that isoflavones do not stimulate breast cell proliferation or increase breast tissue density (two markers of increased cancer risk), and a lack of harmful effects have been noted in several clinical studies examining the impact of soy food intake on the prognosis of breast cancer patients. In one study, neither soy nor isoflavone intake was related to the disease-free survival rate of breast cancer patients over a five-year follow-up period, and in a second study, higher soy intake was associated with a more favorable outcome for both total mortality and disease-specific mortality or relapse during a follow up period of two years. And even better news is that the benefit of soy food intake on survival was more pronounced among women with estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer. Although these studies are encouraging, breast cancer remains a very serious health condition. Women with a history of breast cancer should seek the advice of their doctor concerning the consumption of soy foods as part of an overall healthful diet.
  • Osteoporosis: Prevention of osteoporosis is a public health priority and among nutritional factors, most attention has focused on the beneficial role of calcium. However, in addition to calcium, many other nutrients are necessary for bone health, including protein. Findings from many, but not all, epidemiological studies point to a beneficial role for dietary protein in bone health. High-protein intakes have been associated with reduced bone loss, high bone-mineral density, and reduced fracture risk in older adults. In a recent trial, increasing protein intake, especially when accompanied by calcium and vitamin D, reduced bone loss, improved muscle strength, and shortened the hospital stay in older patients with hip fractures whose usual intake of dietary protein was low.

On the other hand, some studies suggest that excessive dietary protein intake may have detrimental effects on bone because of its effect on urinary calcium excretion. This controversy may be explained by other nutrients in food or the source of dietary protein. For example, dietary protein has been shown to exert a positive effect on the skeleton of older adults when calcium intake is adequate, but not when calcium intake is low.

Because protein exists in close association with other nutrients in the diet, it is important to consider protein?s role in bone health in the context of foods or the overall dietary pattern. A number of studies have demonstrated that intake of milk and other dairy products benefits bone health. Dairy products such as milk are a unique source of protein because their calcium content is high relative to their protein content and they contain other bone-supporting nutrients such as phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, and vitamins A, D, and K.

How Much Protein Is Enough?
Although no one-size-fits-all answer exists for that question and research on the topic is still emerging, the current recommended dietary allowance for protein is 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight per day for healthy young adults. That comes to about 62 grams of protein a day for a person who weighs 170 pounds. Although growing children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and older adults may need a little more (1.0-1.3 grams per kilogram of body weight), getting the minimum daily requirement of protein is fairly easy. Cereal with milk for breakfast, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch, and a piece of fish with a side of beans for dinner adds up to about 70 grams of protein.

It?s also important to pay attention to what comes along with the protein in your food choices. An eight-ounce broiled porterhouse steak is a great source of complete protein?54 grams worth. But it also delivers 44 grams of fat, 16 of which are saturated. Saturated fats raise blood cholesterol, and high blood cholesterol increases the risk of heart disease. On the other hand, a cup of cooked lentils has 18 grams of protein, but less than one gram of fat.

Vegetable sources of protein, including soy protein beverage mixes, are also an excellent choice and many also provide healthful amounts of other essential nutrients such as fiber, vitamins, and minerals. The best animal protein choices are fish and poultry. Barefoot Healthy Living: Healthy Christmas Snack

The Healthy Christmas Snack

Protein Balls

Prep Time: 30 minutes (15 minutes to mix, 15 minutes to roll into balls)

Basic Ingredients:
1 c. Natural Peanut Butter
1 c. Honey
1 c. Shaklee protein powder (cocoa protein powder makes the balls especially yummy)

Add-In Ingredients (4 cups total, create your own combination!):
Sunflower seeds
Peanuts
Chocolate chips
Granola
Oatmeal
Raisins
Dried cranberries
Oat bran
Wheat germ
Flax seed (ground or whole)

Directions:
Mix together the basic ingredients in a large bowl: peanut butter, honey, and protein powder. Add 4 cups total of the add-in ingredients. (Peanuts, oatmeal, and chocolate chips are a delicious classic.)

The more dry ingredients you add, the stiffer the mixture gets. You want the protein balls to stick together when you roll them, but you don’t want them to be so sticky that they won’t hold shape. Add more oatmeal, wheat germ, or oat bran if your mixture is too goopy. Add more honey if your mixture is too dry.

Roll the mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter. This is the tedious part—so get the kids involved! Refrigerate the balls (or freeze any extra). You can stack them in Tupperware and separate the layers with waxed paper.

~Pop a couple throughout the day when you feel concentration and motivation are low~

Barefoot Healthy Living: Go for it....No regrets!

One of the great benefits of a Shaklee Business is the personal developement your recieve. When I read this message this morning from Gary Burke it reminded me of something I heard when I first started in the business. "Whatever you do DON'T QUIT" over the years I've gotten so many phone calls from past distributors who did quit and tell me how they regret their past decision.

Go for it....No regrets!~by Gary Burke

I received the following statement (in quotes) about regrets a few days ago and I've read it several times and it has made me think. It's really quite a strong statement about the choices we make as people.

"Regrets are a result from poor choices made on decisions based on temptation, doubt, fear, frustration and anger."

I think one reason I have given this some thought is I can remember some of the early times while building our Shaklee business when I would get frustrated because it just didn't seem to be growing as fast as I wanted it to. All kinds of thoughts would start coming to mind and most of them were negative. Wondering if this Shaklee opportunity would really work for us the way it did for others we heard about and saw at various meetings.

Wonder, doubt, temptation to quit, and most of all frustration. As I think back though, the issue really was about me and not the opportunity. I expected more than my skills could deliver. I had to learn the HOW TO's.......How to prospect effectively....getting appointments....telling the Shaklee story....understanding the compensation plan....I had to develop certain skills.

I'm a competitive guy. Always have been. I loved the competition of athletics and that is what would eventually win over all the frustration and/or doubtful thinking. Every team I was ever on, the coach always talked about fundamentals, working hard and having a great attitude, and above all "you never want to quit."

I was not going to quit. I wanted what the Shaklee opportunity offered and I knew if others could build successfully, so could I. I just refused to live a life of regret.

No one ever fails at building a Shaklee business. But many quit! Many people make decisions based on frustration, doubt, and other negative thoughts. Don't allow it to happen to you. Work hard and develop the skills you need to make Shaklee work for you. If you do I know this....You will never, ever regret hanging in there tough, you'll never, ever regret sticking with it, you'll never regret the effort it takes to develop the skills you need.

Work hard. Put in the effort it requires. Smile! Laugh! Have fun! Go for it! No regrets! Don't ever give up........Never give up!

Boogie Woogie Dance makes you Feel Good!

When I saw this video I knew you should see it too... Dancing brings out so many creative ideas for me I hope it moves you the same way. Isn't it wonderful it is to be vibrant and healthy like the dancers in this video.

Link to video

My feet are still tapping. Are you ready to go dancing too? Lets be honest.. Nothing is more important than your health. As I shared in my last message to you our mind plays an important role in our health.

A perfect example is a story about Fred who went in for a routine exam. Now Fred is 75 years young and has never been sick a day in his life, but due to constant nagging from his wife who may as well live in the doctors office he went.

When routine blood work came back with a elevated PSA that's when all havoc broke loose. The doctor recommended he go in for a bioposy and his wife insisted too. Unfortunately the local hospital running the test couldn't get Fred in right away.

The earliest possible appointment wasn't for 6 weeks. Fred went home and started worrying what the biopsy would show. He went from an active 75 yr old who was an active gardener, to basically and feeble old man would could barely get up to sit in front of the television. When the day of the biopsy rolled around Fred looked like someone had just handed him a death warrant.

Fortunately Fred came through the biopsy surgery OK, but you could tell he still had the worry deep down of what test results would show. When test came back normal it was like Fred had gotten a new lease on life. He got home put his work clothes on and got busy living life again. I don't know how many folks have gone through what Fred did, but I do know it doesn't have to be like this.

Just recently New England Journal of Medicine concluded that screening for prostate cancer has little or no effect in prolonging men’s lives, and the risks posed by unnecessary treatment may outweigh the benefits of early detection. Imagine that!

In conclusion I encourage you to surround yourself with what makes you happy in life.... Such as this video that makes you feel like dancing too.

Don't ignore your health but feed your body with nutrients proven to support long term health... Such as Vitalizer

Liquid Supplement: The Anti-Aging Powerhouse

A message from...
Cindy McAsey-Mom with 2 kids a husband & a farm full of animals

The Facts and tests are in Resveratrol is indeed a breakthrough ingredient in our liquid supplement. In fact our liquid supplement is so much more powerful than taking resveratrol alone.

Resveratrol has wonderful anti-aging antioxidant properities. Imagine this it's an ingredient in red wine!

Reserveratrol is most abundant in the skins of red grapes used to make red wine. It slows the buildup of platelets in blood vessels, making them less sticky. This improves the blod flow. Resveratrol can slow the growth of cancer, stimulate your immune system, lower inflammation and act as a powerful antioxidant.

Researchers and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Huston show resveratrol blocks prostrate cancer at every stage. It helps more than a dozen different anticancer mechanisms in your body. What's more, resveratrol targets cancer cells selectively. It's toxic to cancer cells but doesn't harm healthy cells. It also modulates hormones; stops cancer cells from multiplying and can actually destroy cancer cells.

Resveratrol may add years to your life, too. studies using bother mice and yeast show resveratrol turns on a gene that stimulates a protein called SIRT. The greater activity of SIRT, the greater the life span of yeast and mice. It turns out that humans can also activate the SIRT protein with resveratrol.

The newest round of studies from the Instute of Genetics, Molecular and Cellulary Biology in France found resveratrol, helped mice run twice as far during excercise. It helped muscles produce more energy, reduced their heart rate and gave them endurance the researchers compared to trained athletes.

What's more, resveratrol protected mice from gaining weight and developing the symptoms of diabetes and obesity. The benefits included in improved sensitivity to insulin, which is the key to maintaing ideal weight and avoiding diabetes.

So... resveratrol is becoming a 'wonder natural compound' it's powers include:

+ Anti-fungal, anti-yeast, anti-viral
+ Antioxident - promotes glutethone
+ Increases longevity
+ Protects against heart disease, Alzheimer's and type 2 Diabetes
+ Anti-inflammatory
+ Protects DNA, stimulates repair of genes
+ Protects against cancer
+ Kills cancer cells Prevents metastasis
+ Aids Chemotherapy results, while protecting healthy cells

I've got a secret to share with ya... Now you can benefit from the latest anti-aging research. It's my latest Barefoot Secret.

THE BAREFOOT 'SUPER GRAPE' SECRET... There's a new product 10 times more concentrated than resveratrol alone You can try it risk FREE for 30 days at: http://barefootbus.com

Business Franchise hardly anybody knows about

A message from...
Cindy McAsey-Marketing Strategies Coach

The problems we are faced with in a down economy is all over CNN, BBC, FOX News ...have been releasing reports daily of market turmoil, multiple bank failures, soaring foreclosures, and skyrocketing unemployment.

Every one of us has witnessed or is feeling the harsh effects on our economy in one way or another.

To make matters worse, business owners, top professionals in the mortgage business, real estate and insurance business are struggling financially and are facing a major crisis.

As a small business entrepreneur we must seek out solutions. We must not only shift gears in the midst of a downturn, but also shift our energy to stay out of fear mode, which is even more important — and tougher to do.

In Tough Times, Tackle Anxiety First

Here's a simple six-step program for “shifting yourself out of fear-based operating mode and getting back on track towards success.”

The first step, is to confess that you are, in fact, afraid. Stress, worry and apprehension are all elements of fear. I admit it is scary right now being in business, but that is what entrepreneurship is all about.

The second step is to respond to that fear with calm deliberation rather than rash acts that may push your businesses into deeper trouble.

The third is for small businesses to refocus their efforts on things they can excell in.

The fourth is to “reframe the story” by looking for new opportunities in difficult times.
The fifth is for entrepreneurs to maintain a balance between their work and personal lives.

The sixth is to seek out a critic who will give unvarnished feedback about potential blind spots.

Did you know that while the majority of folks in America are fighting for survival a privileged few are building a steady, stable, strong business? These folks know something that you don't.

They aren't jumping on the latest greatest thing since sliced bread. (rash acts) These folks are maintaining the calm deliberation, reframing by looking for real honest opportunities and taking advise that goes to the heart of the matter. Don't Panic!

I want to share this short video from the CEO of Shaklee, Roger Barnett giving an explaination of why he launched the latest incentive called "The Power of 10"

Bottomline..our Business Franchise Online offers REAL opportunities for REAL people.

Happiness is an attribute of love; therefore, you can never be happy until you give your love to others. Let your emotion of love warm the heart of someone and see an ample supply of happiness reflected upon you. A selfish person may depend on gaining possessions to bring happiness, but soon will find that such possessions reflect only their own selfish thoughts.

Sow the Seeds of Happiness in Others, and You Will reap A Joyful Harvest.

Business Franchise Online: Rule #2 for Happiness and Contentment

A message from...
Cindy McAsey-Marketing Strategies Coach

To gain happiness, you must discover and enjoy what you have. It is not how much you have. It is what we THINK about how much we have which produces happiness. In building a happy contented life you must give happiness to others. No one living for himself will ever be contented.

Your happiness is reflected upon you through service you give to others.... and the thought you give to the creation of happiness will attract a happniess-service from others.

Start creating happiness-habit by producing happy love filled thoughts.

"As a man thinketh in his heart so is he."

When I discovered the company in this short video my level of happiness grew much stronger. I feel it's because the values align so closely with who I am. I feel a close parallel between my business "Barefoot in the Garden" and the philosophy "created by nature."

What values do you align with?

Barefoot Marketing Strategies: Luxury Vacation Resorts.. What do you want in the Recession?

A message from...
Cindy McAsey-Marketing Strategies Coach

Franchise Business: What does a SMART Small Business Entrepreneur Do in a Recession?

You know I LOVE twitter, but over the last week I have seen a sense of panic, mostly because I have been focusing on a target market that isn't currently a small business owner. There is so much education to be done for some of these poor souls or at least they think they are poor because the media tells them how bad it is.

I've got "NEWS" for you just because the media paints a doom and gloom picture it doesn't have to be like that. Let's face it. Doom and gloom sells. Look at 911 how many people (including me) were glued to the TV watching and listening. Remember the year 2000 scare when all electronic data was going to be wiped out? Did it happen? NO... Did some people take advantage of it a make a boat load? YES

It amazes me these predictors are not held accountable for their stupidity when the bad things DON’T come to pass. Sadly, I’ve found that some of the greatest tragedies I’ve seen in my life, like 9/11, Huricane Katrina, and earth quakes, tsunamis, and other disasters were not predicted or prevented in any real way at all.

Any thinking person understands depressions, natural disasters, war, and more... does happen and that is unfortunately a part of life as we know it. But the media doesn’t want you to ‘think’… they want you to be afraid and dependant and turn to them for ‘comfort’ day in and day out (bad, bad idea… they never report ‘good news’). To my knowledge, worrying about such events has not prevented any of them!

Action and imagination solve problems a whole lot better than ‘worrying’.

After all…

Napoleon Hill didn’t write, ‘Worry and Grow Rich’, did he?

However, the doomsayers predict doom almost every day it and the media seems eerily cheerful in reporting on anything negative that happens around the world in real time, 24 hours a day year round. What is missing is perspective.

Miracles, recovery, healing, new discoveries, massive profits, enlightenment, giving, growth, birth, beauty and joy are ALSO happening every day around the world.

But you’d never know about it if you rely on the NEWS media for your view of reality.

If you want to profit from these times, let McCain, Obama, the stock market, real estate woes and the nattering ninnies in Congress shuffle papers around to their hearts content. And ignore them. If you have real estate problems or stock troubles, educate yourself on how to best deal with those issues. Tell yourself over and over.. "If it is to be it's up to me" Don't rely on anyone to bail you out!

Don’t envy or resent the ‘rich’, join them! The Money is still right under our noses. In fact this "recession" will produce more billionaires than ever before. (Some people are THRILLED to see it coming) Stocks and Real Estate will be bought at rock bottom prices. (Only to be sold for massive profits in a few short years) Advertising for your business will be much cheaper, because there won't be the competition from the nervous nellies.

SMART Small Business Entrepreneurs are...

  • Proactive. We see something coming and we do something about it. We take the bull by the horns.
  • Focus on Sales. Bottomline we are in sales may as well admit it. We focus on Sales, not the "news"
  • Focus on Value. We market and sell products that add good value. Something that is consumable that consumers need and want.
  • Focus on Abundance. Think in terms of abundance we understand there is plenty of money out there and we can make as much as we want.
  • Ready to take Action. We think outside the box and are ready to take advantage of opportunity when it comes our way.
  • Focus on Marketing. We constantly invest (time and money) in marketing we know our business must be preforming marketing that works, we test it, we track it, we know what's working.
Did I describe who you are or want to be? Your best option to increase your income is to growing a profitable small business of your own. Seek out those who ARE successful and discover what they are doing. Stay current on what is working in your industry… and in marketing. Choose carefully… Every day I read, listen to mp3’s, and watch videos on all kinds of subjects about what IS working. I recommend you do the same.

To your Success,

Online Training: What do guineas, fleas, and ticks have to do with web conference rooms

Online Training: What do guineas, fleas, and ticks have to do with web conference rooms?

When you live on a farm in Kansas sometimes your suroundings come through in the web conferencing recording. You will get the short story in this web conferencing recording.

I decided to save this web conference online training and load the whole file up to my server. Not that it's necessarly the best online training I've done, in fact when I re-listened to the recording I just about didn't post it.

There is time during this training that my guineas start making so much noise that I have to stop the training and close the window! If you don't mind hearing real world day to day things that happen on our farm in Kansas then this is a must listen to training.

Here is the link: http://www.barefoot-in-the-garden.com/R/cindy422/index.htm

Just so you know this recording is un-edited and everyone who was in the class text chats show so it's really pretty much like being live in web conference. In this recording I cover most of the basic features of VereConference how to use the screen casting, basic recording features, locking the room etc.

For the perfectionists watching this recording I realize I didn't have the back drop of my screen casting exactly perfect but decided to post the recording anyway. Most of you who have been to my trainings know I'm really picky about that stuff. Please overlook the imperfections to learn what this amazing web conferencing system can do for your business.

btw... as I write this our guineas are up letting their presence be known again this morning.

How Veretekk is works to build your business with Social Networking

Last night in our weekly web conference I had someone ask me have you ever brought someone into the business through social networking? With out having Veretekk as a tool it would be next to impossible to build the relationships I've built in Social Networking. This morning as I was doing my usual social networking follow up, I glanced at the string of messages a new facebook contact and I have had this week and thought, this is it!

This is the perfect lesson to show you exactly how social networking using Veretekk works! Again my hats off to Tom Prendergast and Mike Darling for putting together an awesome neutral system we can use to build online social relationships with.

Apparently Peggy found my profile on facebook and requested to be my friend, I replied with a short note saying "Thank you for the add" .. here was her reply...

Hi Peggy,
I think Amway is going on 50 years too. Our neighbor is one of the top dogs in Amway, he has built a "retirement" house 2 miles from his "mansion" all within a mile from us.. the "mansion" that includes a conference center is up for sale to the tune of 2.5 million.. so the neighbors say! Everyone wonders who they will get in our little rural community to purchase! I'm thinking possible a business of some kind. It was built on a golf course and is beautiful.

Engles? There are many in our community. Mike Engle I remember from High School. Amber Engle who used to be Amber Rock... I could go on and on..

I see your in network marketing too... One of the tools I use that has skyrocketed my business is Veretekk http://barefoot.veretekk.com It's done so much for my business I can't explain in a short message. I do have a testimonial at: http://quikonnex.com/channel/item/31948 I also have an information page that will give you more of the features at: http://cindy.veretekk.com/platinumcontrol.htm The nice thing about Veretekk they offer a free version of all their tools and sites. Okay, Veretekk. How different is it from Cutting Edge Media and other leads generation systems? How much does it cost per month, etc. Thank you for introducing it to me - I look forward to hearing/learning more about it. Yes I am also in NWM or MLM or whatever the latest word for it is! lol I gather you still market ****** as well as doing your internet business?
Take care
Until next time
Peggy (& Ted)

Cindy
Hi Peggy,
Veretekk is very different from Cutting Edge Media... In Veretekk you are taught how to generate your own leads. NOT purchase leads. BIG DIFFERENCE. In Veretekk you can sign up for free and take a test drive see how the system works... it's not just a limited trial either. You can continue a silver freee membership forever if you want too. Yes they do have 2 other levels of membership. The gold membership is 41.95 per month and coming soon is the Platinum. When I first looked at Veretekk I saw the power of having your own lead capture pages offering stuff for freee and a I also saw the affiliate program and soon learned I could have a cost free marketing system. Personally Veretekk brings in nice checks every month paying for my marketing costs. It can do the same for you too if you want it too.

Peggy in my business everything I do online leads back into *****. Yes I have multiple streams of income coming into my business, but it's the primary business income that will be passed down to my kids and future generations. It's the ****** income that comes in month after month from customers purchasing the products from my website wether I'm working or not.
Take Care,
Cindy McAsey

THAT'S how it done! Social Networking is all about building relationships and communication. Sometimes it's in the form of text messages.. such is the case in Twitter. or.. sometimes it's in the form of private email messages like this example... and sometimes it leads to a phone conversation, but not always.

Others are mirrors of your own self-image. You will be drawn to others for the positive qualities you believe exist within you. In a similar way you will tend to hate others who reflect back to you those qualities you fear most in yourself. You already have th answers to life's questions. All you need to do is look, listen within, and trust your intuitive powers.

Barefoot Luxury Vacation and the 50/20 Rule

A message from...
Cindy McAsey-Marketing Strategies Coach

Barefoot Luxury Vacations: 80/20 Rule Technique

The 80/20 Rule is one of the most helpful of all concepts of time and life management. It is also called the Pareto Principle after its founder, the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who first wrote about it in 1895. Pareto noticed that people in his society seemed to divide naturally into what he called the "vital few," the top 20% in terms of money and influence, and the "trivial many," the bottom 80%.

Pareto later discovered that virtually all economic activity was subject to this his Principle as well. For example, this rule says that 20% of your activities will account for 80% of your results. 20% of your customers will account for 80% of your sales. 20% of your products or services will account for 80% of your profits. 20% of your tasks will account for 80% of the value of what you do, and so on. This means that if you have a list of ten items to do, two of those items will turn out to be worth as much or more than the other eight items put together.

Here is an interesting discovery. Each of these tasks may take the same amount of time to accomplish. But one or two of those tasks will contribute five or ten times the value as any of the others. Often, one item on a list of ten things that you have to do can be worth more than all the other nine items put together. This task is invariably the one that you should do first.

The most valuable tasks you can do each day are often the hardest and most complex. But the payoff and rewards for completing these tasks efficiently can be tremendous. For this reason, you must adamantly refuse to work on tasks in the bottom 80% while you still have tasks in the top 20% left to be done. Before you begin work, always ask yourself, "Is this task in the top 20% of my activities or in the bottom 80%?"

The hardest part of any important task is getting started on it in the first place. Once you actually begin work on a valuable task, you seem to be naturally motivated to continue. There is a part of your mind that loves to be busy working on significant tasks that can really make a difference. Your job is to feed this part of your mind continually.

Time management is really life management, personal management. It is really taking control over the sequence of events. Time management is control over what you do next. And you are always free to choose the task that you will do next. Your ability to choose between the important and the unimportant is the key determinant of your success in life and work. Effective, productive people discipline themselves to start on the most important task that is before them. They force themselves to eat that frog, whatever it is. As a result, they accomplish vastly more than the average person and are much happier as a result. This should be your way of working as well.

Make a list of all the key goals, activities, projects and responsibilities in your life today. Which of them are, or could be, in the top 10% or 20% of tasks that represent, or could represent, 80% or 90% of your results? Resolve today that you are going to spend more and more of your time working in those few areas that can really make a difference in you life and career, and less and less time on lower value activities.

Techniques for Communication via the Telephone

Do you persuade customers, teammates, bosses or employees via the telephone? Like it or not, you're in telephone sales. Even with all the technology on the the Internet, lots of business still revolves around the phone.

Here are some quick tips for making your point more powerful.

Talk clearly. Use short sentences. Talk loud enough but don't over-modulate the mouthpiece (that's announcer talk for distortion). This can be especially tricky when you're on the cell phone in the car. I use a bluetooth ear piece, making it easy to take notes or ordering information. Word of caution do not try to multi-task, carefully listen to what the other person is saying so you know how to respond.

Here's a technique I discovered from talking to newspaper reporters back in the corporate days. When you're talking with a reporter and you want them to write down particular points but not others, vary your pace. Talk fast through the points you don't feel are important, but slow down and enunciate the important parts you want in print. The same works for selling on the telephone.

Leave the script behind. Instead, jot down a few phrases that remind you of your important points. Ad-lib around these to keep your pitch on track. Fear of the phone can be big hurdle for many online marketers. Educate yourself about the product or service you promote. Become a product of the product. Then selling on the phone becomes like talking to your best friend when you know in your heart what's best for them.
